Trade Blazers trade Hezonja for Kanter!

With Kanter having a contract at $5M, and Hezonja at $2M, we only used $3M of the $7M Player Trade Exception.

We still have $4M to use in an unbalanced trade if we choose.

That's not how it works. TPE can't be combined with other players or salaries.

This deal is two deals:

Basically the Mario/30th pick deal is one deal, and only legal because Memphis is also part of the deal absorbing Mario's contract.

Kanter for TPE is a separate deal. We have 2 million of the TPE left, but it can't be combined with other deals.

"Teams can consume only part of a trade exception, in which case they can use the remainder in a future trade."

I'll miss having defense at center but we definitely got the better player in the deal.

Kanter!

One of my favorite short lived Blazers. So happy to have him back for the long term. Remember how much he beasted during the playoffs a couple years back? He loved the culture here and is a great guy.

Only minor gripe was his play suffers immensely during Ramadan.

We got him for fricking Mario? Awesome!

It sounds like we chose dumping Mario over the 30th pick. Since the pick Boston used to unload Kanter was sent to Memphis.

Net cost savings ~3 million with Mario's salary + rookie deal.

Doesn’t matter. Ellebe will be a superstar!!

This is a great day so far! Next order of business: resign Rodney at 3:01 PST.

The best part about this is we would get destroyed on the glass last year when we went to our second unit. This should end that issue and help our rebounding a ton. Plus he played well with our guards. The biggest thing is he seems to want to be in Portland, with his post about going home.

By my count we're still at 9 roster spots guaranteed and still have:
- MLE, $9,258,000
- BAE, $3,623,000
- Early Bird rights to Hood
- Full Bird rights to Whiteside
- Vet minimums
- A couple small TPE exceptions

This should be a fun evening/weekend!

I really hate when journalists do shit like that. It's bush league.

Does anyone know what the Blazers private jet looks like???

Why would Ibaka choose Portland out of all teams lolll come on!
