Roy is shooting whenever he touches the ball these days.

Outlaw sucks. If he was any good, he would've made that 3/4 court shot. Loser.

Bayless is +23 and Sergio is -7

I'm just saying.

This will be the 5th straight game that Oden has been at least solid.

Arg. Just when I'm really enjoying the game, our GAWD-AWFUL halftime team spoils the mood. Could they possibly be any more awkward?

Oden has been so active on defense and offense in the last 5-6 games. He looks like he has lost that 10-15 extra pounds which he didn't need. He moves some much better.

If you were paying attention Felton has yet to score against Sergio and has had Sergio steal the ball.

Felton scored hs entire 5 points in 2 consecutive attempts against Bayless, also drawing a foul.

Nate likes defense, which Sergio has provided in the last few games and Bayless has not.

Sergio also got us off to a great start by assisting on 3 of our first 4 scores, all at the hoop.

Sergio is the only - on our team. Meanwhile, Bayless is +18. And you love that +/- stat.

Then there must be a reason why Sergio is -7 and Bayless is +23, AND a reason why we went on a run right after Sergio left. (Both shifts)

Oh yeah! Some people were bagging on Oden early in the season, saying he was a disappointment or a bust. This wasn't fair as Oden was a rookie coming off microfracture surgery and not playing ball for a year. All Oden needed was time (to learn and experience the NBA and to get his conditioning back). And all the haters needed was patience.

I'm excited to see how Oden will continue to improve in the 2nd half of the season, next season, and beyond. I think he'll be a top center in a couple of years.

Bayless went from +16 to +23 when all he did was go 0-2 and get scored on again by Felton, who has all 7 of his points against Bayless, and is 0-4 against Sergio.

It wasn't me I always supported Oden and told most of those bagging on Oden they better get behind Oden if we are ever going to be a championship team. I think by the playoffs this year Oden will be dominating and next year he will be one of the top 4-5 centers in the league if not higher.

But you can't explain why Bayless has a better +/- stat.....

I don't know why every thread has to turn into a Sergio vs Bayless war; fuck, can't they both be on our team next year and be great? They work great as a team; one day, Sergion does well, the other day bayless does....

go blazers?????

Bayless is playing great defense but I also think Sergio is trying harder on defense.

I know you weren't one of the haters. I was thinking of guys like Quick (calling Oden "underwhelming") and Gavin Dawson (his "jobber" comment).

But he WAS underwhelming and now's he's better, regardless of what the excuse was.

+/- measures what the 5 players out there did collectively.

Each player plays with a different lineup of players.

You can have a horrible game and get a high +/- if the others offset you.

Or you can be the one carrying the others.

It is useful for comparison only over a long period of games with both players running similar lineups and similar minutes.

Despite having trouble with Felton's shooting penetration, Bayless has been out there against the bench mainly, and the Kitty's bench is pretty weak. That's when we have made our runs.
