I don't know why every thread has to turn into a Sergio vs Bayless war; fuck, can't they both be on our team next year and be great? They work great as a team; one day, Sergion does well, the other day bayless does....

go blazers?????

No. You may only like one. Liking both disqualifies you as a Blazers fan.

But he WAS underwhelming and now's he's better, regardless of what the excuse was.

I know Oden didn't play well, but if he was underwhelming, then someone's expectations were too high when one consider the factors against Oden coming into this season. In the early season he played like a guy that was out of shape and didn't have any NBA experience.

+/- measures what the 5 players out there did collectively.

Each player plays with a different lineup of players.

You can have a horrible game and get a high +/- if the others offset you.

Or you can be the one carrying the others.

It is useful for comparison only over a long period of games with both players running similar lineups and similar minutes.

Despite having trouble with Felton's shooting penetration, Bayless has been out there against the bench mainly, and the Kitty's bench is pretty weak. That's when we have made our runs.

YOU were the one who said +/- mattered back when Bayless was beating Sergio statistically. Now you're flip flopping. And that's the last you'll hear from me about it.

Go Blazers

He was playing well for a rookie center. He just wasn't playing a lot of minutes, which matters but a lot less than how good he was when he was on the floor.

No, that's bassackwards!

Dis-like either and you're obviously a Laker fan who's infiltrated our midst!:tsktsk:

Bake 'em both!

He wasn't underwhelming, he was playing as expected due to his circumstance, he was only playing underwhelming if your expectations were unrealistic! Sheesh!

Yea, but he had games where he'd play 13 minutes and grab 1 rebound. It's all good. He's playing well now.

Haha, they used the same misspelled graphic for the GRED Oden McDonalds cup that they used last game. Nobody's fixed it.

I love Bayless's game but still would like to have Sergio play well and maybe be our backup if we don't keep Blake.

I also think Oden has really improved his game with many aspects of his game. He isn't fouling as much or traveling as much and isn't getting the ball stripped like he did earlier in the season.

These refs are really ruining our chances of being up by 25 going into the 4th.

Okie-dokie.

I don't think I've flipflopped.

I've maintained all along it is merely one stat and is dependent on other factors, but yes I have pointed out when Sergio had a nice +.

Sergio is the best point guard in the world!

Aldridge is killing out there. Our shooting is amazing these past two games.

Aldridge is redeeming himself for his performance against the Clippers. He is a man on a mission!

Most importantly, Aldridge and Oden have really gotten better playing with each other recently. Aldridge has looked very good in the brief time he's been at the high post feeding Greg down low, and they have been clearing out for each other when the time is right, helping on the weakside boards, and overall playing with much better chemistry.

Bayless with the quickness. Great charge-drawing right there.

It looked like Bayless wasn't aware of the shot clock running down until the final seconds as that shot seemed forced. It didn't even touch rim.
