Yeah, remember when he won 6th man of the year and then didnt do shit for the Suns in the postseason. Ask any Sun fan and they are glad he is gone.

When did Raja Bell win 6th Man of the Year?

Look who's coming around on Oden.

edit - in the span of a week or two

Oden's coming around. So I'm coming around. See how that works? During games, the fans cheer when the team makes a basket. Have you ever heard the crowd cheer when the team misses a basket? No, you react to what you see.

So you're basically saying if Oden has another 8pts,3reb game you'll call him underwhelming again, since you react to what you see.

It doesn't work that way with developing players. You have to think big picture and not overreact.

Nice victory tonight by the Blazers. Still 5th seed in the West. We're now one full game ahead of the Rockets. Wow, wouldn't have expected this from the beginning of the season.

Yet there are still a good number of people griping that we suck, won't make the playoffs, going to be picking in the lottery, yadda yadda yadda.

It's possible. One bad week can really screw up a team's standings.

Understood - but when you look at the big picture of where this YOUNG team is at this point then I'd say more praise is due versus the amount of grief they get win or lose on this forum.

I don't know what kind of hallucinogens the refs popped before the game but they was trippin.

Good to see Oden have a good all-around game against a good center like Okafur. Aldridge was a beast. Roy coasted tonight, deferring to the big guys, but we saw twice in the fourth he could turn it on if we needed it.

Outside of Bayless' first quarter, neither Sergio or Bayless really impressed me at running an offense or handling the pressure. Charlottes a good defensive team though so I've got to give them alot of the credit.

Well, we also had a similar record last year and fell off.

glad we won, but pretty boring to watch the total coast job in the
second half - running the clock down on every possession.

Similar, yes, but we're two games ahead of last year's pace! We were 26-19 last season.

And we have an easier schedule the rest of the way as compared to last year. I would say our chances of making the playoffs this year are high.

They are all a year older . . . and Oden didn't play last year. Roy's having a year this year that not many of us ever would've imagined he could. I'd say they have a lot more going for them this year than last.

I'll take it. We don't need a nail-biter every night out. Not good for the blood pressure and ulcers.

Give me a boring win every night for all I care. I'll take boring, coasting wins all the way through June if they've got it in them.

Possibly. Although we had Martell last year, as well as James Jones (Rudy seems to have filled Jones's role), AND the ever loved Jarrett Jack. :D

I'd take this year's team with or without Martell on the IR over last year's team with Martell healthy any day of the week. Jones really only brought three point shooting, which (January notwithstanding) this team is not short on.

As for Jack - I've been told that Bayless is Jack on steroids.

Jones's contributions went far beyond three point shooting. He was a smart veteran who played very solid defense and understood the game. I always felt he was slightly underrated. His production did drop a bit after his injury though.

Oden is putting together a nice stretch of games here...could he possibly be feeling close to 100% physically and adapting to the NBA game???

Nah...

Correct. He's still at about 67%. Wait until he gets closer to 100%...

;)

That just makes wayyyyyy too much sense to be in a Blazers' forum. You must not be a Blazers' "fan". You come here often?
