Well ur not use that of play that will result in more turnovers but something they they have to clean up before the season.

What does it matter if I'm used to that type of play or not? I'm not the one turning the ball over.

There's only two other players besides the 3 rotation players that deserve an NBA roster spot: Brown and DSJ.

been watching on and off-- had to run errands.

but if our open spot goes to anyone but smith, it would not be for basketball reasons. this dude might climb into our top 9 in the rotation and somewhat undo the disaster that is keljin blevins.

Agreed DJS will get the 14th roster spot, but if he's in the top 9 of our rotation, our off-season acquisitions will have been a total failure.

Again, the difference in the game; we had 14 more turnovers than them. Not unexpected and hopefully will get a lot better.

Nance and Nurk look great together.

I did not get to see the game but I have always thought he should start if we go with Dame, CJ, and Norm. I think that is our best 5.

Playing without most of their key guys, the Blazers fall to 0-2 in the preseason with a loss to the Kings tonight. Despite the loss there were a lot of positives from the game. Join us for the Blazers Uprise Postgame Show!

The way I look at it, Smith is the 13th guy on the team. Elleby 14th.

Guys… I’m better than Blevins and I’ll take lesser pay. Paging Neil Olshey!

i don't think anyone expects mclemore or snell to play. even management. they have all admitted neither were their first choice in FA

Could be true... the fact they gave those guys guaranteed money and brought DSJ in on a non-guaranteed deal would hint they think he's even below those guys in their eyes.

Dennis’ head coach had a similar start to his career. Bounced around until he found himself as a player.

This is true, but are you suggesting you suspect DSJ will turn into an every day starter, let alone a boardline HOF player?

Not to be a total wet blanket, but there are far more examples of guys bouncing around then being out of the league than there are of them bouncing around and having a career like Billups. I hope DSJ turnings into Billups 2.0 and sticks with the Blazers for this next decade, but that doesn't seem likely at all. Frankly, I hope we're not counting on DSJ to us having a successful season or not.

Jeezus that was ugly. 27 turnovers after 26 turnovers against Golden State. Just so sloppy!

well duh. But, Smith Jr. was a lottery pick with star potential coming out of college. Heck, he was my favorite player coming out of that draft. For one reason or another he bounced around and couldn’t get traction in this league.

I’m not saying he’ll be a finals MVP or make Lillard expendable, or even that he’ll need to be a major contributor for us to win this year. I’m saying that he has the potential to be a very good player. Is far and away better than any other training camp invite and is playing for a coach that came into the NBA the same way he did, bouncing around from team to team before figuring it out.

I think the potential with Smith is something that if ever maximized, he could be a really good player.

Small sample size, but our assist to turnover ratio has almost flip fopped from last year, and not in a good way. I suspect come April it will look similar (slightly worse) than last year, despite the increase in number of passes.
