Blazers vs Nuggets Game Thread........ 2/29/12

I'd like to know were Craig smith was? When yoru getting KILLED on the boards coach's usually go with size and good rebounders but not Nate he is to cool for that.

He was picking up fouls faster than Greg Oden, so he was on the bench.

I'm not too angry. I didn't expect a win, but it doesn't mean I'm happy about the level of effort.

And then what? Get bounced in the first round again, and have an aging PG, LA, and no future?

And then make a run at a title. Gotta be in it to win it. If we make the trade soon, it's not too late to get the 4th seed.

Smith was the worst player on the floor tonight for both teams, by far.

Craig Smith's not that great of a rebounder. He was pretty useless out there.

I never believed we would win tonight, but I predict we win tomorrow.

I'm having a hard time ever believing we will win on the road. I just have no clue, as none of us seem to, why the team just lacks energy and hustle on the road.

These team just looks like they have given up on Nate they really do.

As a team, with 1 maybe 2 exceptions, they don't seem all that excited about being paid millions to play basketball.

Batum, Babbitt, and Joel are really the only ones you can rely on for constant effort when they're on the court. The rest are pretty spotty.

Nearly void of emotion whether they win or lose, they appear to be coasting in 3rd gear most of the time like they can't wait for the game to end so they can go do something more interesting. Whether afraid of injury or simply not competitive in nature, it's a rarity to see someone risk a floorburn going after a loose ball and I swear I'll faint if one of them ever sets a real solid pick on their opponent.

Sitting pat with this lineup is the same as burning another season quickly so we can all go fishing.

Not that I don't enjoy fishing.

It's more than effort and a horrible front office - this offense/system has got to go.

I'm starting the hire David Blatt bandwagon.

I'm sure glad we drafted Nolan Smith over Faried! AND we got Felton to boot!

Denver was playing short-handed, and still murdered the Blazers on the boards. I'm sorry, but that is a hustle issue.

Extremely frustrating watching when we play Denver. The have two good point guards, one whom we gave them and the other we wanted but let them outmaneuver us in the 2009 draft.
And then to see Kenneth Faried pretty much singlehandedly beat us. I will still never believe that Portland picked Nolan Smith over Kenneth Faried, especially since our biggest need is a highenergy big man, so I will have to conclude we just got outnegotiated. Not to mention, Denver in effect got rights to Jordan Hamilton out of that deal and he made some really nice shots tonight.

Funny thing is, the Blazer fans seem to be right more often than the GMs making the picks. I remember most fans wanted Faried, Dujaun Blair, Chris Paul...etc....

I'd rather the team be run by fan vote than the bozo's in the front office.

I think you're on to something good.

That's what happens when you don't have a GM.

If PA had any people skills at all we'd still have KP or at least Cho.
