[FONT="]“It was certainly a different kind of game with Chris and Robin and LA not being there. It was a challenge to keep them out of the paint. They had 40 points in the paint in the first half and I think 68 for the game. It was a challenge for us but I liked the way we figured out how to play them a little bit. I thought Joel Freeland was terrific. I liked the way we moved the ball and I liked our shots.”[/FONT]
[FONT="]What did you like from Freeland:[/FONT]
[FONT="]“First, the rebounding. He went after them, he got big rebounds in a crowd, he went after them. He was aggressive with that. He made a concerted effort on their penetration to bother their shots and protect the paint as much as we could because that’s Philly’s game is getting to the rim. I thought he did a good job at both ends rebounding the ball, but then defensively, I thought he had a presence.”[/FONT]
[FONT="]On Freeland’s play filling in for Lopez last few games:[/FONT]
[FONT="]“Joel has been very consistent. This is the way he earned a spot in the rotation last year. He plays within himself. He plays very hard. He runs the court, he gets rebounds, he kicks them out for extra possessions, he’s really gotten the verticality of going up and contesting shots without necessarily fouling, so he’s just been very consistent. Whether he makes a shot here or there – everybody likes to make shots- but you feel his presence on the court. You know he’s out there.”[/FONT]
[FONT="]On turnovers and ball movement offensively:[/FONT]
[FONT="]“I wasn’t pleased with our turnovers. I mean, we had three turnovers in the first two minutes of the game and Philly, they’re number one in creating turnovers. You like to try to limit the opponents’ strengths and I didn’t think we did a good job with that. But other than the turnovers, I thought our ball movement was really good, swinging it to the weak side. They kind of overload and gamble to play passing lanes so when we did move the ball well, we got really good shots.”[/FONT]
[FONT="]On taking so many threes:[/FONT]
[FONT="]“They were mostly good threes. Wes’s threes, they were mostly good looks. I want us to take threes – I don’t care how many threes we take, as long as they’re in rhythm, preferable off the pass rather than off the dribble and they’re in the flow of the game.”[/FONT]

[FONT="]“We knew that without Kaman and LA – the ball was just flying around the perimeter. Dame was doing a great job of penetrating, guys were doing a great job of penetrating and they collapsed and we knew that if we got to the second side, those same shots that we shot in Philly we were missing them. So we knew if we just continue to play basketball, play with confidence, share the ball and shots will be there.”[/FONT]
[FONT="]On playing and finding success shorthanded this team:[/FONT]
[FONT="]“Just a relentless team, a confident team. We’ve played and won every kind of way so far this season. We’ve been tested. There’s been games when I haven’t played well, Nic hasn’t played well, Dame hasn’t played well, RoLo hasn’t played well, LA hasn’t played well, Kaman hasn’t played well, so there’s been times throughout the game, even though we’ve all been there, we haven’t been up to our normal standard, and everybody is stepping up. Unfortunately we have injuries and illnesses and stuff, but it’s giving our guys a chance to play that may not ordinarily play and that’s going to strengthen our team.”[/FONT]

[FONT="]“Joel was big time.” “He did great. I’m happy. I’m happy for Joel and T-Rob and Meyers. They’re putting in work and they’re getting a chance to show it. Joel is one of those guys that’s been grinding and he’s been under the radar a lot. He’s found his niche and he’s really going to help us out.”[/FONT]
