I think your definition of elite perimeter defense is off a bit.
This is what it looks like.

I don't get the hate for Bell. I honestly don't.
I don't hate bell at all.
Pretty much what @Fonzthecpt1 said.

I don't know if he's a better looking prospect, but he's definitely more NBA ready. Those are not the same things.

And that shouldn't be a shock, considering Swanigan was a sophomore. Collins will still challenge for playing time as a rookie. He's advanced defensively.

You are confusing hate for MM's hypocritical BS as hate for Bell.

I didn't mean this board. I meant the fallout from his recent jump in profile by joining the Warriors on other forums and social media. I couldn't begin to figure out the different prejudices and posting tendencies of the S2 forum.

Let's give the kids a training camp and an actual NBA game or two before we pass out to many judgements though....I really like both kids, I just think Caleb is a grown man and Collins is more of a really tall college kid

I think Jake has the potential to be a pretty decent player actually. If he keeps putting in the work, his jumper will start to fall. His perimeter defense has kind of surprised me so far. Even Tatum had his worst offensive game against him. Also, I think he should have some training sessions with Dame and CJ focusing on finishing. Both of those guys have greatly improved their inside finishing abilities and Jake could use a tutorial, because he has looked like he can get to the rim almost at will pretty much all summer league. He just needs to work on his body control, angles, and how and when to put spin on the ball.

I will say one thing.... regardless of foot speed, Biggie is going to find a way to contribute. He's the kind of player that just gets into a rotation and you can't get him out.

I agree. He seems to overcome his lack of foot-speed by understanding the game and being in the right area when it counts.

Layman actually looks good when he attacks. Just has trouble finishing and his jumper is streaky. Could be a rotation player. I have higher hopes for him than Pat, although admittedly not high.

After a couple of unwatchable games (BOS and the first SAS game), I have really enjoyed these last three summer league games. The guys are playing like a team and not just a bunch of guys trying to get theirs. Of course the real reward isn't a summer league championship, it's the opportunity to play another game.

Swanigan is just so fun to watch. Those last two offensive rebounds were pure will power. I love to see a guy who never gives up on a rebound. Rebounding is 90% effort and that's the reason it generally translates well from one level to the next.

I think I went to Vegas a week too early. I saw 2 games and we lost both. Layman looked like shit when I saw him.

One thing I know Swanigan will be a enforcer out on the court. He had another solid game. He need break quicker on close out. Sometimes he goes so fast he looks little clumsy but that can be fix.

He did indeed look terrible. I think he's stopped trying to do things he's not good at and has found more of a groove. I don't think he'll ever be starter material but his effort on defense is encouraging.

Another notch in the win column. Biggie is becoming a fan favorite with his effort and bringing excitement to Rip City. I'm a fan and I am rooting for this young man to rock it in preseason and the regular season. Go Blazers!
