All losses. BLOWOUT losses.

Okay?

Let's recap: I said three years ago that the only players worth a damn on our bench (at that time) was Barton, TRob, and Freeland.

I said that I didn't have much faith in Crabbe, Claver, and Leonard.

I said we needed to get rid of Mo, Wright, and Watson.

Our bench was one of the worst in the league. I don't even know what the hell I'm defending at this point. Crabbe played a total of 100 minutes that season. He scored 33 total points. Leonard actually got some playing time, and averaged 5.5 points and 3.7 rebounds, but he was inconsistent. Thus, why I said I didn't have faith in either of them.

Honestly, Mo saved our ass in the playoffs, so if I deserve any criticism it's probably for that, but I hated his inconsistency. For every good game, he'd have 3-4 horrible games. He was easily one of the most frustrating players to wear a Blazer uniform in recent memory.

Watson and Wright were a joke.

Since then, Barton was in the top 4 for 6th man of the year. TRob was a starter at the end of the season for the Nets. Freeland and Claver are out of the league. Watson is now coaching. Mo was a bench scrub for the Cavs. Crabbe is going to be the most overpaid player in the game.

What did I miss?

You guys should have seen how much of an idiot I was compared to Bones and Fizz on draft night. I didn't even remember where Labissiere played, meanwhile Bones is throwing out names I didn't even recognize and then telling me what they had for lunch before the draft. I usually pay more attention to the draft and prospects but with our lack of a draft pick I was slacking and boy did it show. With the collective basketball knowledge on these forums you're bound to have someone who is "right" and somebody who is wrong... To take it further we've all been right before, and we've all been wrong before. If you've posted on these forums for a significant amount of time without being afraid to let your opinions be known then you have undoubtedly been wrong before. You could search the post history of just about any one on here and pull up posts where they were wrong, and posts where they were right.

Yes, we've all been right, and we've all been wrong.

But I just wish people weren't so fucking vicious when they think someone is wrong. Brian and I said that we thought LMA was going to leave two summers before he did. We were shredded on here. And then, when LA said he was only waiting for a year to sign so he could get more money and he wanted to be the best Blazer ever, we had it thrown in our faces repeatedly about how wrong we were. People wouldn't let us live it down. And then.... we were right.

I just don't understand why it matters. Who cares if I have a different opinion than you? The only people I can't stand on here are the people who are trolling. That's it. Those are the people that annoy me. The rest of it is fine. Have a different opinion. If you think I'm wrong, show me why I'm wrong, but calling a post stupid, or ridiculous or moronic or whatever, is just uncalled for.

I have never been wrong. Imagine I took the time to use green font. My downfall all started with being ok trading down for Martell because we already had Telfair. There was no where to go but up from that point.

I'm with you on this. Most of it. We all have opinions and we all get it wrong or right at times. That is why we discuss things. No need to take things personally here. I only get upset by needless personal attacks, like last night.

Oh, and I thought Monya and Khryapa (and I'm sure I just spelled their names incorrectly, because that is how relevant they are) would really help this team out. I was right about Dame, CJ, and Roy though.

Dame is courtside of this Simmons v Ingram game, sitting next to BFF Tim Frazier and the adidas dude you see all over.

Next to them is Tyron Lue, sitting next to Brian Shaw and Luke Walton.

Brookfield Duece?

By the way, Vonleh didn't have a great game, but I liked his aggression and he had a couple of very fluid moves on offense, a layup at the rim and a coast to coast play that were pretty impressive. It looks like he has worked on his handles considerably. He is still a work in progress, but he showed a couple of new things today, and summer league is a really good time to show off new esoteric things you have been working on.

From the distance of time Monia and Khryapa now sounds like some combination of a lung and gastrointestinal disease.....

Ben Simmons is sick.
He is a great facilitator. Going to be interesting to see if he can make that team better. Definitely lacking on the offensive end though, far from the LBJ many in the hoops world thought he would be.

He looks like a better passer than Lebron was as a rookie, but Simmons needs to learn how to finish around the hoop. Looks confused about which hand to use to score around the basket.

Layman is going to be pretty good. His shot is nice. A lot of in and outs today. He's athletic. He's also smart on the defensive end.

Connaughton was meh. Disappointing. Looks the same as last year.

If Montero could ever develop a shot. He does look bigger though.

Vonleh was probably Portland's best player but nothing special.

The Suns had 2016 pick numbers 4, 8, 16, and 34 playing. We had no chance.

Montero made mistakes, as if his mind wasn't in the game. He's too thin.

My favorite player Bitchynski did nothing, but I still like his name.

Vonleh and Chriss fought today. Fights are rare in Summer League. The first SL technical foul ever was only 2 years ago (Jason Kidd).

I feel like every summer league team should have a distributor on the floor because otherwise you end up like us..... 4 dudes that are all trying to look for their own shot.

Just don't start a rookie C.J. McCollum at PG or else we'll have the league's worst FG% again. Start a real PG.

Where were Napier and Alexander? Pierre had to start. Cliff needs badly to be on a Summer League team to have any chance at getting a contract. I hope it wasn't pride that caused his absence.

I think Layman will be the winner of the Martell Webster Memorial Pretty shot that doesn't go in as much as it should award

Layman, listed at 6-9, is barely 6-8 but a good dribbler. Although a couple of inches shorter than Vonleh, Layman has good instincts and is no Leonard.

Russ Smith will make the team in November. Hopson and Bachynski won't...Brian Roberts will be gone in the chaos. We only paid cash for him, but he's a better player than we saw (good shooter with Charlotte who led the NBA in FT% in 2013-14).

Russ Smith looked like our most polished player today.

This pbp announcer is awful.

He made many name mistakes (e.g. saying Bosh left us last summer for the Spurs). Stotts pointed that one out during his interview and the guy tried to laugh them off for several minutes thereafter.

Can't wait for the interview that lasts the whole 2nd quarter!! Yeeehaww!! Every single fucking game!!

I've complained for at least 6 Summer Leagues about NBA-TV's interminable interviews. The producers are bored by the sport of basketball and divert us from play-by-play for most of the game. Every single game, I am pissed off that the announcer won't announce the names of the unknown SL players...total confusion during the stupid interview. And today, they did TWO interviews.

Layman reminds me EXACTLY of Claver. Looks like a player, has a nice stroke, but can't make a shot

Just watched Simmons. WOW. That kid's got passing and vision.

So we're seriously going to dissect a post from three seasons ago? SERIOUSLY? Do you even realize how fucking lame that is? It was a post about our bench from three seasons ago, when our bench was AWFUL.

In that post, I say that Barton, Robinson, and Freeland are the only players worth a damn. Considering the state of our bench at that time, it doesn't mean much. We had one of the worst in the league. Barton has gone on to be one of the best 6th men in the league. Robinson actually got some burn at the end of last season and was playing well. Freeland.... I mean..... okay?

Meanwhile, I say that I don't have much faith in Crabbe, Claver, or Leonard. At that point Crabbe was a garbage time player. It was THREE seasons ago. Claver is out of the league. Leonard is STILL finding himself in and out of the rotation three years later. Do you have much faith in Leonard at this point, because I still don't.

Then, I go on to say that Wright, Mo, and Watson all need to go, and they DID. Mo and Watson were gone after that season, and Wright was gone after the following season. What part of that post do you disagree with exactly? Keep in mind, it was made THREE SEASONS AGO.
Someone else brought it up. defended your opinion. Obviously it's hard to see down the road but you were defending it after the fact so I disagreed. I poked holes in the arguments you were making now.. That's all. Then you got super defensive. So defensive that I think you should play for the Blazers.

BTW, Crabbe was a rookie three years ago. Not much sample size to go off of. Which circles back to the fact that it's only one game bruh.

Some people get nervous when something big happens, like their first ever NBA game of any type (Layman hopefully) and some people are always going to be the shivering bitch (Claver)

Fair point. Layman may have missed some shots, but he looked fluid in the offense and active on defense. I think with work he could be a big 3 or a stretch 4 off of the bench. Think about a young
Lou Amundson with room to learn and grow.

I watched one of his workout videos with the Blazers and he was automatic from mid range. I still do dumb shit at my job once in a while but it is easy now for the most part. Just another day. One bad shooting summer league game doesn't mean jack if he looked good otherwise.
