There is a right reason to start Wells against the Nets. And that would be to showcase Wells for a trade. But it's a risky proposition. And maybe the franchise shouldn't gamble with discipline as long as it has talented, impressionable players such as Zach Randolph and Qyntel Woods around.

If Cheeks continues to bring Wells off the bench, even in the first quarter, as he did against Washington, the message to his team will be strong and clear. If he starts Wells because he desperately wants to win, it will be equally strong and clear. The showcase-trade option is where things get tricky.</div>

Such talented players that run their mouth to legends and respected individuals such as Cheeks. I personally would keep him on the bench for a while to really show that crap like that will not be tolerated, and it shouldn't.

Agreed.

I think that Cheeks' being a legend is important, but irrelevant. Players should not talk back to their coaches PERIOD.

It's nice to see that Cheeks is starting to be a coach as opposed to a friend.
