The answer to your first question is - absolutely. The second is a matter of good questions and remembering to obtain verification for information given. Even the hard core socialist/communists involved with the DNC had to admit the dossier, after inspection, was complete road apple information.

The link between campaign and Russian operatives is real. They used an intermediary is all. They knew the work product/result and how it was obtained. They whispered about it, got it to the FBI and CIA, etc.
