Boston Celtics Dame Trade ideas and rumors

I would not trade Scoot. Not now. I'm full on the Scoot train. I'd trade Dame for Brown and then flip Brown for picks/young players.
Really?

You would say no to a lineup of Dame/Shaedon/Brown/Grant/Nurk?

I love Scoot but Brown is an all nba caliber wing. I dunno how long Scoot would take to reach that ceiling.

Yup, what we have learned from the Dame era - you do not trade stars or potential stars that want to be in Portland! #BAM
I stated in my post to assume the premise that Brown agrees to an extension in Portland in either scenario.

Edit: think i misread your post. Guess you're referring to Scoot here wanting to be in POR.

That comment was a joke on the Scoot vs Dame going out, based on what we always said about keeping Dame... because Scoot wants to be here. I just have to #BAM it again. @THE HCP will enjoy it. Or not.

I would. I don't think that team would win a title. Dame has maybe 3-4 years left at a high level.

It's just funny, i think 99% of this forum would have chosen to trade 3 + Ant in a heartbeat like 3 weeks ago.

Because it would have worked with Dame wanting to be here. That's no longer an option. Even if he tells you he is willing to stay now, there is a grain of doubt we did not have before.

Because there was no guarantee that Scoot drops. There was a high chance that he would drop, but I would trade Miller/Simons for Brown.

But also, I never in a million years would have expected Dame to go scorched earth like he has. That has also changed my opinion on the matter.

I suppose these are both the case. Just interesting how quickly all this has changed.

Also sidebar, Jaylen and Scoot both have the same hometown. Jaylen once called Scoot the best prospect he's ever seen. I think he would love to play here with him.

If Boston would do Dame for Brown, would you keep Brown or would you flip him?

You posed a very interesting hypothetical, thanks. I also look at that lineup, it's lack of depth, etc. and wonder is that team higher than fifth or sixth seed in the West? Could that team get out of the first round? After the manner in which this team has underachieved (even before the tanking) the last two years, it's possible that I am even overselling that roster.

There are absolutely no guarantees that the rebuild route (trading Dame for Jaylen/flipping Jaylen for younger assets) would result in a better longterm outcome, but I would certainly feel like there would be more hope going that route.

All the attention around Dame and who we get for him is great, but I'm way more concerned about getting some young, talented, length in the frontcourt. Most importantly, they need to move on from Nurk and get a PF so they can move Grant to SF and get their C of the future.
Not that Nurk is trash, but his attitude is showing out lately and I think most of it is because of the Dame situation.

Going to be really interesting to see if this gets worked out.... because from what I have heard from various reporters, it's extremely odd that he hasn't signed his deal yet.

Since when do players negotiate for their contract? lol Total propaganda that Brown needed to get back to Boston to negotiate his contract.

EDIT: I'm responding to the Tweet. Not you. Hope that's clear for you.

I think normally you're right, but with these super max I think they're capable of getting 35% of their teams cap, but maybe Boston doesn't think Brown is worth that full 35%.

Lol with what? They have no young guys or draft picks. Brown is literally their only piece that has value.
Robert Williams. He would be great for us. Exactly who we need at center. Maybe we could get White too.

definitely an over pay but what are you gonna do?
