My greatest night in league play was when I threw a 721 series, 257, 219 & a 245 Needless to say I won all three pots that night. I also led the league that year with a 186 average. My favorite bowlers were guys like Earl Anthony, Peter Webber & I met Brian Voss, real nice guy.
Nice.
Unfortunately age & 16 back surgeries forced to to give it up.
That was just one of those nights that I couldn't do no wrong. And although I came close once or twice after that night I never hit a 700 again.
...^^^"broken pins"?...no shit?...I know you're a big fella but I've never seen someone break a bowling pin...of course, I've only been to the lanes about 20 times or so.
...or when you say broken pins, do you mean, open frames or splits?
There was a moonlight (midnight) bowl on sat nights....DJ and such. Lots of non bowlers and lots of drinking. So they put out all the old tired pins...they were fragile at times.
And sometimes picking up a spare, a downed pin gets lodged during reset. If the head is pointing towards you it has a good chance it'll break.
...ahhh, that makes since. I saw a program the other night that I watch all the time called "How It's Made"...they were at the factory where bowling pins are made and they went step by step as to what it takes to make just one according to specs...pretty cool stuff.
love shows like that.
love shows like that.
And you wonder why chicks don't post here.....
