Jamal Crawford:
Right here with @CHILLCONROY and Broy while he does the Q&a off of @CHILLCONROY 's twitter!

Some of "B-Roy's" comments:
"yes I'm preparing for a comeback. I'm training daily"

"I'm preparing for a return next year.. God willing"

"I wish but do to the nba rules I cannot play in portland until 2014 2015.. I'm lookin to return sooner"

"no matter where I play portland will always have a special place in my heart..#pdx"

"thank I got mad love for portland one of the best experiences in my life"

oh fuck, he's going to the L*kers. :MARIS61:

He can have Michael Bay film his exploding knees from courtside if he plays in LA.

I can see him going to Miami.

...Along with Oden.

Mind. Blown.

who cares, wish him the best and lookin forward to the draft and FA

as long as its not the Lakers I'm cool with it.

in other news, Shawn Kemp has lost weight and will make a comeback.

I think this is just a case of someone who still hasn't come to grips with his knee problems. Trying to make a comeback is not the same as traveling. Yes, he knows what it physically takes to play, but it's not the same as actually playing.

I'm going to laugh when it turns out his knee issues were overblown and he plays for 4-6 more years. :devilwink:

A good fit for him is Chicago.

He can't be any worse than what they have now.

I hate to break it to people, but Brandon Roy on the Lakers won't make a huge difference in things. They have a bad coach, soft players (Gasol and bynum) and players who are aging or under performing. He wouldn't all the sudden make bynum show up when it counts or Gasol not be sort or magically remove 10 years from Kobe.

Besides the fact that the lakers arent under the cap and iirc amnestied players still have to go through a lotto system of teams under the cap. Of which they aren't.

noone is thinking that Roy suddenly makes them contenders its the fact that to see such an important part of recent Blazer. history sporting the purple and piss, of one of the most hated franchise if your a Blazer fan, is just such a sickening thought. It os one of the only things that can tarnish the memory of "The Natural" basketball career for me.

I hope they sign him because it would show they're desperate

You Go B-Roy, don't care where you do, you'll always be a blazer no matter what

Since when does "medical retirement" mean "take a year off to get healthy"? So... the question has to be asked: Did Roy "retire" to get away from the shitshow that is the Blazers organization?

well the authentic roy jersey i have will have to go back in the closet for awhile and if he signs with the lakers it might just have to go up in flames!

Roy was amnestied to get enough relief to go under the luxury tax by enough to sign Jamal Crawford for 5.2M instead of 3M.

He accepted his knees were shot after a season, he takes time off sees players like Chris Paul/Kobe whos knees are like his and see them still playing. His knee has been getting better all year. Yea I can see how he might decide he can make a comeback, I don't think it will last. By the playoffs next year (If he signs with a team that makes it) his knee will be shot again and he will realize he is done.

I still contend that the Clippers are the best team for him... He can play with CP3 finally, and be that second threat that they needed in the 4th this year.

the only reason his knees are feelin better is that they were not being subjected to the pounding of playin in the NBA, he likely had some more PRP shots which help reduce pain/inflammation, but that does not grow cartilage and he is still bone on bone, give him a trainging camp and a month or two of NBA play and he's right back where he was IMO

Will boo his ass if he shows up in the Rose Garden in a Lakers uniform. Otherwise, I wish him the best.

He had Medically retired before we amnestied him.

That is true, but the team still needed to amnesty Roy in order to have access that extra cap space.

The team amnestied Roy because they knew his ego couldn't allow him to accept his career is over. They amnestied him because they knew this would happen.

Smart move.

Roy should go play for the spurs. Pop knows how to limit minutes of stars while keeping them playing at a high level. I think he would also get along great with pop and the rest of the spurs.

"So from what Roy is having done on his knee, there is not even a long-term study of how it affects a person's joints over the long run. In other words, Roy could easily play three or four more seasons ... and then later in his life find himself confined to a wheel chair. I know that sounds harsh, since it's speculative anyway without any real precedence, but maybe Roy loves the game of basketball enough that getting three or four more seasons out of his knee is worth risking his mobility in the later years of his life."

Is it possible he had the Meniscus Replacement/Transplant Surgery and kept it on the DL? We haven't heard much from him since training camp. I'm just trying to understand why he would even try to come back. Remember when he retired he said that prior to last season he was working out over the summer and the "clicking noise" in his knee kept coming back? What has changed?

This

My damaged hands would feel a lot better if I went a year without using a computer. They would be just as damaged, however. The missing pieces don't come back. There is currently no technology to change that, sadly.

I doubt he can be even 75% of his old self.
