He had a consensual affair with a coworker. Just so happened to be a boss’ wife….. so she didn’t get fired, but he did. Is that what you are talking about?
yeah, he did that while engaged to a celebrity he had been a long time

Well, the investigation may have started then but doesn't mean that they didn't add people to the list once they took over.

To be fair if they added people to the list and have pretty solid evidence of it, seems they aided in the investigation?

Its very VERY well known how much I absolutely HATE everything about whats going on politics wise but this is some really damning stuff... and who is to say they already had Chauncey dead to rights before this incompetence took over? It was a 4 year investigation after all.

I'm just really sad for everyone that this is affecting that didn't do anything wrong. This is sad for all of the stand up men and women in the Blazers organization. I feel bad for the young men on this team that looked up to Chauncey and I hope this doesn't hurt their lives or careers. I feel terrible for the kids at his academy. I can't even begin to think of how hard this is on his girls.

Nothing but love for the good people of our franchise. @THE HCP keep your head up. This can't be an easy environment to work in right now. As real Blazers fans we appreciate you and all of the good people that make our team a reality.

It does feel like the allegations are a little bit out of character, but at the same time why would they have picked him of all people to be the patsy?

It's not like the FBI or the US Government has ever faked anything....that said, i didn't expect anything different to have been said by him or those who represent him.

It would really help if we can see actual evidence, and not evidence like the text chain between the shooter and his roommate...

It also wouldn't surprise me if this was, no pun intended, trumped up charged instigated by the current administration as a weird revenge.

The old saying that things just don't add up seems appropriate here.

The X-ray machine under the tables, special contact lenses and regular glasses that can see special markings... So then you also have that podcaster guy that said this so who knows?
Yeah it's not an easy one to figure out. I'm hoping that Chauncey didn't do what he's accused of. That would be the best outcome here. That being said I just don't know. So we'll have to wait and see. It would be foolish based on a ton of different things to assume that Chauncey is absolutely guilty or absolutely innocent until we know a lot more.

"weak ass shit man"
Kevin Love responded:

"@damianlillard nah, we aren’t going to do this…Chauncey has been my OG since 2010 - we won a World Championship together and I love and respect him. T-Ro is my brother, he knows where I stand and I supported him through the struggles last year. Comedy pushes boundaries. Social commentary that’s all in jest. Same shit with Jimmy and the Heat last year. I support our shared elite fraternity. And respect to you always."

This is so true. Most men of integrity pick up women, get head from them in a car, run a train on them and get named in a rape case. Then settle with the victim. Oh, all while being in a relationship. NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING screams integrity like that.

I don't remember them saying he had "ran a train" on her, and not saying that he didn't make a really dumb decision there, BUT 1 isolated incident (if he didn't do this I mean) does not negate a lifetime of good choices.

I have friends that, in their early 20's, did really REALLY stupid things. Doesn't mean now in their late 40's and early 50's, that they haven't lived a life of integrity. Lord knows I'd hate it if you were to use some of the stupid things I did as a 20 something as proof I'm not a person who lives with integrity.

Again, not saying he's 100% innocent, just I don't necessarily believe the story as it's told. It seems too convenient.

I had no idea who the other guy was.

I think that might be the Mike Love side of Kevin Love coming out, and then him (Kevin) covering his ass because he's not a complete ass-hat like his uncle is.

Kevin Love is just happy because if Chauncey goes to jail he might have to sell his Lake Oswego house, and then Kevin can buy it.

The Rozier highlights from the Magic game still get me. Remember seeing that at the time and thinking it was fishy

Though to be fair, in this new light he is really doing both.

This guy made it sound like it was shocking that CB pulled the players. It really wasn't. He could just read our game threads, where most of our fans were begging CB to take out anyone who might allow us to win.

I find this video idiotic. It's called tanking, not throwing a game for gambling purposes.
Billups isn't being accused of tanking. He's being accused, as co-conspirator 8, of passing inside information about 'injuries' to another co-conspirator to help facilitate winning bets against a point spread. There was a post earlier in this thread that detailed how the betting and winnings were distributed from that inside information and the allegation was that some of the winnings were funneled back to Billups by a woman in Brooklyn (maybe it was NJ)

in the game when Avdija was pulled, there were plenty of comments in the game thread about it. Blatant tanking and a couple of people joked about how much Chauncey had bet on the point spread. I remember that game, and maybe, I made one of the jokes. Certainly other teams were tanking at the time, but tanking isn't a criminal act

also, I think it may be a mistake to assume that yesterday's indictments are the last moves by the feds. Kind of looks like they are building a RICO case and once all their ducks are in a row there may be follow-up indictments. And as Pablo Torre has already pointed out, Billups is a prominent name in both cases brought forward yesterday

I get that it's "innocent until proven guilty"; and that the trump DOJ is all about distraction, revenge, and circus stunts. But even if Billups is eventually not convicted, he sure the fuck shouldn't be the coach of the Blazers

How can you say that with any degree of certainty?

Maybe it was tanking. But, I don't think the video is idiotic. Did he pull our best players like that every game we were on a run with minutes to go and a chance to win?
