I said "make fun of". Making fun of, and killing, are two very different things, no? That's just IMO, though. Feel free to disagree. :devilwink:

Okay but in this scenario the racial profiling had nothing to do with "making fun of". The bomb went off and they picked up the first Arab they saw running from the scene.

They ignored the many white peeps cause they would never do such a thing right?

OKC.

Sadly, I am already seeing articles with titles such as "The End To Complacency". They are already building a case for more restrictions on civil liberties.

There is a weird irony in the fact that Americans are safer and more secure in their dailey lives than the majority of people in this world....and yet we tend to see "terrorism" under every rock. It is tragic when 3 innocent lives are lost, but in the middle east, africa, or south america this would be considered a slow news day!

Mourn the individual victims, but let's keep a sense of perspective.

Mitch McConnell is using the word complacency. Fox is capitalizing. Here we go again into dictatorship.

They didn't "pick him up." They interviewed him as a witness after he arrived at the hospital. Any "person of interest" or "suspect" talk came from the NY Post, not the police...

So the liberal press were racist? How could this be?!

The police searched the guy's house. Found nothing. A bit more than just asking him questions.

That said, unless there's actual evidence beyond racial profiling, I think it's idiotic to try to guess who's responsible. Unless we're talking about union thugs (nobody's guess that!).

Nobody's taking credit like it was a terrorist attack. Food for thought.

I didn't see that they searched his house, just that they searched a house. Didn't they come out and say he was never a suspect, just a witness? Maybe I need to STFU, lol. Got a link where it says it was his house that was searched?

I wonder if there will ever be another Boston Marathon? I imagine the lawsuits against the marathon organizers and the city are going to be huge.

I would blame the Occupiers, but the crowd would have smelled them coming a mile away...

Towel head is a derogatory term, just so you're all aware. Oh and "I know some Indians and they're cool" doesn't make using it any more appropriate. Fuckin a.

Thanks, Sly. One passage that jumped out at me:
The sources said that, after the man was grabbed by police, he smelled of gunpowder and declared, “I thought there would be a second bomb.”
He also asked: “Did anyone die?”

I'm hesitantly willing to give the police the benefit of the doubt here when it comes to whether detaining this fellow was racial profiling. I'd rather they err on the side of caution in the immediate aftermath of something like this.

BOSTON (USA TODAY) - A search of an apartment in the suburb of Revere Tuesday is related to a man viewed by police as a "lead" -- but not a suspect -- in the investigation of the horrific Boston Marathon bombings that killed at least 3 people and injured more than 170, according to a law enforcement official.

Police, along with FBI and Homeland Security agents, descended on the high-rise Water's Edge apartment, removing brown papers bags, trash bags and a duffel bag among other items.

The official identified the man as a Saudi national. The man, like many at the time of the explosions, was observed running from the scene and sought medical treatment. The law enforcement official has been briefed on the matter but is not authorized to comment publicly on the case.

Others news organizations have reported that the individual, who was hospitalized with injuries, is a Saudi national in the United States on a valid student visa.

Massachusetts State Police confirmed that a search warrant was served, but declined to provide further details, the Associated Press said.

The search of the apartment is part of an expanding investigation that is also focusing on the type of devices used in the twin blasts for possible clues on who was behind the terror attack.

...

Speaking from the White House, a somber President Obama said people should not speculate over who was responsible.

"We still don't know who did this or why. People should not jump to conclusions before we have all the facts. But make no mistake. We will get to the bottom of this. We will find out who did this. We will find out why they did this. Any individual or responsible groups will feel the full weight of justice."

I am offended by Fuckin a. Please refrain from adding the a as it offends me. You are a bad person and I will wait for my apology off the air

I have three very close friends who are Native Americans, and they would punch me in the face if I called them Native Americans to their face. And some of the funniest 7-11 jokes come from guys like Aziz Ansari, Russel Peters, Maz Jobrani, Ahmed Ahmed, et. al. Context matters.

Towel head is an actual derogatory term. Joke all you want, but you're being an asshole.

Ya, I still don't care. It's not like I called them camel jockey's or something else PITA would be angry about

Eh I don't mind being called a towel head. Rag head just seems so much more demeaning. Rag just seems so dirty!

This.

If you're intentionally trying to offend people, you're a dick.

If you're making a joke and poking fun and people get offended, that's on them. It's the people that can't lighten up....
