He will go in November. Biden will beat him.

I really hope so. Joe’s gotta keep his marbles together for a few more months, and he needs to pick a good moderate running mate so people have confidence that we’re covered even if Joe has to eventually step aside.

No, because their brains malfunctioned. You don't have to be exceptionally intelligent to know not to self-medicate without talking to a doctor. You don't need to be clicking on cylinders to think well maybe fish tank cleaner and an actual real medication are different things too... I'm really not buying that it was because of, "Trump", Trump shouldn't have proclaimed what he did before the started doing larger-scale testing and all that. But say Trump's little miracle elixir of those drugs do work on COVID19 no one's going to get better by self-medicating on fish tank cleaner...

I'm not saying that. My point is there are a group of people who so believe Trump and the things he says, they end up doing stupid and reckless shit that costs their lives or the lives of others.

I still think Klobuchar is his best bet

Oh yeah, is Trump going to walk on fucking water too

Lies lies lies and more lies! I hope nobody's believing this bull shit.

I just got back from volunteering at our drive through testing facility. Estimating about 1500-2000 tests per day, mostly healthcare people and first-responders, all with some sort of symptoms. About 10% are coming back positive.

This shit is going to hit the fan hard.

Reopening before it actually is fully shut down is a laughable notion. This guy is going to have so much blood on his hands if he doesn't listen to the doctors and experts.

Such an unbelievably irresponsible and short sighted statement by Trump. When people come back and get sick and we see deaths sky rocketed guess what genius that will utterly destroy any chance for an economy for the foreseeable future

agree...if Joe goes with a radical leftie, he lose's. If he goes with a moderate or even reasonable progressive he should win.

I'm a guy that's all about "balance", it's how I live my life. I try to understand other people's perspectives. I try to balance how I spend my time, my priorities. I try to have balanced reactions to things and to stay calm too. This situation has been very odd for me. We've had a lot going on in our personal lives so my wife is stressed out anyways and the situation with what's going on at a macro level has her really stressed out. My calmness is finally starting to tip a bit the last few days and I'm trying to just adjust myself back finding the right place mentally.

Anyways I have made the point for a while that I believe we have to be careful as to how we respond to this situation. It's easy to say, "Shut everything down for a few months and then start over", but that could kill a lot of people too. Seniors not getting the care they require when caretakers don't show up, families losing their entire income, suicides, mental health taking an even sharper turn towards depression and loneliness for people. When supply chains break down, and stores stop being restocked. Then there is the other side this is obviously a pretty dangerous virus, it seems to spread like wild-fire and it can and in some places already has buckled health-services, it really seems disastrous for the high-risk people who get it (elderly - and those with respiratory/cardiac issues).

I honestly have no idea what the right balance to this is. I really believe at this point too drastic of measures in either direction could and probably will kill many people, it will be a defining moment in the history of the country. While people I'm sure will come to the defense of Trump, and many will say he's evil and all he cares about is the economy for his election, and there might be some truth to it. The way I see it at this point is this is almost a no-win situation for anyone, and yes it was a lack of foresight by Trump and the feds and even our states, but what they decide to do going forward will be very interesting and literally nothing they do or don't do is going to be without fault.
There really could be a point of no return, imo.
The devastation from being shut down for more than a month or more would have a dramatic impact that could be as bad or even worse than the virus.

Klobuchar is my favorite but ticket-wise I still think Val Demings or Kamala Harris would be a smarter move.

I personally know a few people who were laid off, who had their businesses shut down and will probably never re-open. They aren't sure where the money's going to come from to keep themselves afloat or families fed. Some companies are hiring en masse, but as more and more people need those jobs more and more people will get turned away. It's already very real for a lot of people who don't have the virus, now obviously those people probably won't die right away, but I think we can expect to see suicide rates climb, and from other things are byproducts of shutting down society.
I'm not even making an argument that we shouldn't shut things down and practice social distancing when we have to be out. I'm just making the case that I'm of the opinion there needs to be a very measured thought out response to this situation because it's very likely the case that every decision our politicians are making right now will needlessly cut people's lives short.

I think that the worst thing about these shutdowns is that it's essentially asking younger people to take a huge financial hit in order to save primarily older lives. I don't think that there's any way to deny that's what's happening, but when the loss of life is potentially in the millions, what else can you do? I'm just praying that this treatment protocol with the malaria drug and antibiotic works and/or the virus has a tendency to die down with warmer/more humid weather.

Trump misses his campaign rallies. The daily stroke fest from his cabinet isn't enough for his bloated ego, especially when terrible reporters ask nasty questions and pointy headed doctors disagree with him. He needs to go before thousands of screaming adoring fans, say "Hunter Biden" and have them all scream "lock him up". An "invisible" (viruses are not invisible) enemy is insufficient for him.

I really have no idea what the right answer is in terms of what they should do... I know I wish that who we had in charge of the country and our states were cool collected people able to adequately assess the situation, get feedback from intelligent responsible individuals and make tough decisions in a responsible way, but I don't think we have that at any level of government right now...

We will need to release some oxygen to keep us going at some point.

Agree 100%.

There is no good solution. The fact that the occupant of the white house was focused on his re-election so didn't want a crisis is terrible but past fixing now.

We need economic support for working people and small business.

You can recover from recession but no one recovers from being dead.

Yeah, it's kinda hard to "make a living" if you're not alive.

Not happening, unfortunately. The more I am watching what is going on the more I am getting convinced that Trump is just the kind of idiot to get us ready for the Antichrist.

I am sorry for bringing religion in to this but it is unavoidable at this point. Especially if he actually goes through with returning everything to normal next week.

Whats the point of opening business when half the country is infected and thousands of elders are dying every day? I can't believe this is even a fucking debate. There IS a right solution. And there is a wrong one. Don't understand the issue-- this is unequivocal.
