TMZ has obtained video of Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen's helicopter ... after it crashed into the ocean today off the coast of Argentina -- and it's a wreck.

According to an eyewitness, the helicopter -- which was supposed to take Allen from Argentina to Antarctica -- plummeted into the frigid waters due to high winds.

In the footage, the helicopter is being trucked onshore after the local coast guard helped fish it out of the water. The pilots were rescued by the crew on Allen's yacht and treated for minor injuries.

Allen was not on board the helicopter when it crashed.

My mortgage, 2 car payments, retirement and children's college tuition just flashed in front of my eyes!

you know what wouldn't flash in front of your eyes anymore if this happened? Your wife.

(it's called a homonym, you baboon)

What if Donald sterling bought the team?

Then the fans who complain all the time (when things go semi-bad) about Paul Allen owning the team would actually have a reason to bitch about ownership being incompetent

I just think it's nice to see PA scouting in Argentina and Antarctica for our next center.

So, this is bigger than just the Blazers. I wonder what PA did to have such a curse cast on him.

I've never heard of a helicopter flying to the Antarctic. I could have missed it, but I'd like to see some other article saying so. Also, I've never heard of a private yacht going there, but then you didn't say that. I HAVE read of private tour boats taking tourists to the coast for a daytime-only visit. Otherwise, it's only science missions, in year-round camps.

Check you FACTS TMZ! That Eurocopter EC-145 (registered as N-245AF registered to Vulcan Aircraft Inc, Seattle, Washington) only has a Range of about about 450 miles and the closest landfall of Argentina to Antartica is close to 1000 miles.

Ironic, his crap operating system crashes and so does his chopper.

What were they using, a copy of Microsoft Flight Simulator?

I thought his yacht had a helicopter pad

Mills on the conning tower inside the repair bay!! That makes him bay-less!!

54 pictures of the yacht. Toward the end of the pictures, as I recall (haven't looked for a few months), are the sub and helicopter. The sub is lifted out of the water from the rear end into the sub bay near the back. (I know all the nautical terms. The rear end, the front end, the left, and the right.) It holds 2 helicopters, one landing pad at each end.

That's pretty awesome. I love how it seems like he has a big pleasure boat inside of a rear bay which also is so big it has its own boats mounted to the side of it. You know you're rich when your boat has another boat inside of it, which has another boat inside of it. LOL.

I also love the swim up bar and hot tub with the jet skis right there to take for a cruise if you get drunk enough to decide to just go for a spin.

So let me get this straight:

PA's helicopter crashes and everyone on board comes out of there with no or minor injuries

PA's basketball team has a shoot around and someone goes down with a significant knee injury.

Maybe the Blazers should be flying and crashing helicopters and spending less time on the basketball court.

Can we check if Oden was the pilot? What with his drinking problem and all, probably should do a breathalyzer...

If Paul Allen had gone down with it, that would have had big implications on the Blazers.

Cool thing is, all of Paul's planes, jets , boats, ships and helicopters are painted exactly the same.

Yeah, the swim up bar. They can hand you down a drink without you even getting out of the water. There's also a swimming pool if I recall in those pictures. I think it's below the copter hangar, right? (I'm not going to click through them tonight.) Heaviest things below, air-filled things (like a big hangar) above.

There were many pics of a helocopter pad on the one end of the ship and a pool somewhere in the middle or slightly off to one end there but still a ways from the helocopter. Looks like a small version of a cruise ship. Wonder how big the crew is when he's out there.

The crew is versatile. Maybe the guy who pilots the submarine will also repair it and fuel the helicopter. Then he'll mix drinks and then swab the deck. They're not super-specialized like in the Navy. Allen hires experience by paying well.

Does anyone know what these owners do with their stuff while they're not using it? I think I heard recently on sports radio that the NJ Nets owner didn't know exactly where his mega-yacht was when someone asked him on the spot. Do these guys have mega-parties on them? I just wonder how manpower and energy goes into servicing one man.

Going by their known personalities, Pokeroff would have big parties, and Allen very little ones. Allen has another giant yacht in case he loses the first one. I read a couple of months ago that he put one up for sale, but this may be just exploratory, like his sale of the Blazers was.

Hey Max, I heard it's cold and snowy in Denver, do I need my big winter coat?
