Horrible news.

I don't see how anyone can see an upside here.

QUOTE (Dumpy)

This is very minor in the overall scheme of things.

The team will suffer much worse injuries before all is said and done.

It will be interesting to see if they address this from within with Carter and Hite or go out and acquire/sign another PG.

When did I start posting using the Ghoti one-sentence paragraph method?

It is pretty embarassing.

When you write like this people actually

read what you

say.

I mean, its not like Kidd broke his foot guys (Knock on wood)

Looks good!

Would look better if Dumpy were to start signing off on his posts too!

-Petey

I think he should.

One sentence paragraphs and sign-offs are the hallmark of greatness.

Then again, maybe he should just continue the way he was posting before.

Now the preseason games won't be fun, I am expecting so much to watch Marcus Williams lead the 2nd unit to beat the Celtics subs in the pre-season, now it won't be that fun, damn it, and we have 2 games against Celtics in the first month of the season, now it's very tough for the Nets.

QUOTE (GArenas)

Tough loss for the Nets, and it'll be hard for Williams to come back in middle of the season and get back into NBA form. I also have him on my GM Draft team, any timetable available as to how long the recovery will be?

Since when is 10 games "the middle of the season"?

I actually find it easier to read and more "attractice".

Except instead of one-sentence paragraph method, it's more like one main idea paragraph method.

But this really does suck. Marcus out for at least 10 games. i doubt it'll be JUST 10 games, i wouldn't be surprised if he waited till December, just to be safe.

What happened to the Nets having the best trainer a couple years ago? Seems as if we need to hire a new one, haha.

QUOTE (cpawfan)

I think this is great news. It forces Rod to get a real backup PG for the roster.

as far as i know, the remaining Free Agent guards would be: Darrell Armstrong, Jalen Rose, Earl Boykins, Mike Wilks, Junior Harrington (Although i believe he's going to another training camp), Milt Palacio, Darius Washington, Dajuan Wagner (the last 3 not so sure about).

of that list, of course, Armstrong is at the top. I don't want Boykins, doesn't seem like he would go right with this team, especially if it wants to form more of a defensive identity.

Haha, let's get Jordan AKA The Miltness. We would definitely be on a "whole nutha level", with such a skilled player.

Wouldn't Earl Boykins cost too much, anyway?

Yeah I'm not really sure what happened to this great trainer of ours. I mean from what I gather we heal decently, but our injury prevention is pretty poor.

How did he hurt his foot? I wonder it.

Another question entering the season.

Will Marcus Williams' hard work in the offseason show this season despite the injury.

Well, we shall see.

QUOTE (nextlevelgame)

Dee Brown would be a great pick up.

I believe he's already off to Greece.

It's ok guys, Rod Benson is a versatile player. He can handle the rock for ten games or so lol.

and I'm sure he's ready like spaghetti.

IF he did play for us (which he probably won't), would this be his rookie season?

I'd love to have Dee Brown on this team, but he sort of becomes outdated once Marcus comes back. Lets shoot for Armstrong

QUOTE

New Jersey Nets backup point guard Marcus Williams broke a bone in his right foot and will have surgery on Monday.

Nets president Rod Thorn did not know how the second-year pro from Connecticut broke his fifth metatarsal. Williams is expected to be sidelined about six weeks, which will cause him to miss training camp.
