Yeah I know, it's super early, super small sample size, but I should be working so this is my distraction.
Here are some players who have surprised me so far:

Terrence Ross

Not what you'd call a well-rounded player, but part of a very balanced Orlando team, and probably the fourth guy you'd guess to be leading them in scoring.

Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson

Don't look now, but the Suns have carried over their play from the Bubble, but surprisingly, their second and third highest scorers are their young forwards. One of them was discarded by Philly, and the other, the Suns got widely ridiculed for drafting. Who's laughing now?

Trae Young

Looking like a superstar, and now for a winning team. Shame that part of his leap seems to involve him drawing very dubious fouls to get a ridiculous ton of FTs. We don't need another Harden.

Domantas Sabonis

Various people on this board have been advocating pursuing Sabonis and I always was against it because I didn't think he'd work well with Nurkic. Well, too bad for Nurkic - I'd do it NOW, but of course it's too late. It's the assists that are really impressive. No, actually, it's the everything. A credit to the mighty name!

Collin Sexton and Darius Garland

I would've bet good money that this backcourt was a disaster waiting to happen. Well, it still well might happen, but it's nice to see glimmers of hope for sucky Cleveland.

Plenty more, but I really have to work. Yours?

I'm glad to see Garland hopefully breaking out this year (afterall I drafted him!). It looks like he has especially got better as a true PG, assists way up. Another guy (who I also drafted, mostly for his defense) is Keldon Johnson of the Spurs. Mostly injured last year but now is starting. He's averaging 15 points a game, 3 pt. % .429, efg% .536, FT% .842 and throw in 7.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.8 steals and .8 blocks, all in thirty minutes.

Sabonis is turning into Chris Webber.

Dort is turning into a sane Ron Artest.

Too early to call Atlanta a “winning team.” At this point last season, the Wolves looked like a winning team too. Great post though.

Not if you believe HCP.
HA!!!!
Check this out. We have a family fantasy hoops league. We have the wives and kids playing as well, so it's as basic as it gets......that said, @THE HCP drafted Christian Wood in like the 9th round and the scary thing is, though just 10 days of the season, Wood averages as many fantasy points as LeBron!!!!!!! And I got 'em BOTH FAMS!

Never liked Randle, but maybe he's having his Zach Randolph-in-Memphis moment?

So, you'll be sharing your winnings with S2 FAMS for educating you?

Tom Thibodeau is a breakout coach. He's got Knicks fans feeling hope, and it's so long since that happened, they don't know what that strange feeling is.

nurk is breaking out too

hes becoming meyers leonard without 3-pointer

Jerami Grant! I thought he might regret leaving the Nugs (for less money), but...

Oops another player I drafted in my legendary draft, Alexander-Walker, may be finally (after oft injured first year) breaking out: 37 points on 15 for 23 shooting, 5 for 8 from three. and throw in 8 rebounds.
Just waiting on one more guy to break out, unfortunately so far all he is doing is breaking bones, Dylan Windler. And yes, I must admit the last guy i drafted is a total failure; that's what I get for drafting an Oregon Duck! Louis King, in real life he went undrafted and has been released by the Piston and Knicks. However, if some guy hadn't welched out at the last minute on a trade, I would have had PJ Washington instead of Windler and King.

Doesn't Mrs. HCP wear round earrings?

That's sound Fantasy Hoops right there, baby!

I don't know what this actually means, but it made me smile anyway.

Trae Young's game has nosedived since everybody complained about his new method of drawing fouls:
