Sure, he's saying what some of us are thinking, but he's always bee a LOT more professional than to do this kind of thing.

amiright?

Sounds like maybe he had a couple of soda's during the game?

Funny poeple are talking about this more than the game. We needed a UO v Alabama game.

I can see why some think this came across as a "dirty old man" kind of feel. But I didn't take it that way and I think Brent was just building up to the "so if you are a young kid in Alabama, go pick up a football" I thought it was a good build up to that.

Brent had to talk about something else than that dud of a football game . . .

I think you meant an Alabama vs Stanford game. You know, so that you actually have the better team there instead of the over-hyped team.

Did you see the game? ND sucked, there wasn't a hell of a lot for him to talk about. Talking about a hot woman to a majority male audience was just trying to keep them from changing the channel during a boring game.

In his entire career, he's certainly broadcast some boring games. I never heard of him being "unprofessional" about his craft like this before.

LOL. Maybe it's Brent style to comment on gorgeous female college football fans.

If this was Marv Albert saying all this, it would have a completely different feel. :)

I'm going to save this post, and you should save mine. I can't wait until out trip to Palo Alto next fall. You got us this year. We looked at the 21 point spread, and your pathetic offense and took you for granted. Your defense played great, and we don't have a FG kicker, so you won. But next season will be a different story. We will got back to beating you 50-30 like we usually do, and order will be restored. "Overhyped"? Go ask Andrew Luck about how "overhyped" Oregon is pal.

Oregon would've gotten woop'd just as badly as ND did. SEC ALL DAY

The real championship game was on December 1st.

Why wasn't Stanford rated #2 to end the year?

I actually think they have a case for being #2 at the end of the year.

I don't like making excuses, but did you see how incredibly bad our qb, Nunes, was for the first half of the year when we had our two losses? He was absolutely terrible. Stanford was winning despite him being at qb.

Stanford was a completely different team once Hogan got the start and playing time. There is little doubt they win both the UW and the ND losses with Hogan.

I'm surprised that so many UO fans make it down to Palo Alto for the game. I didn't think Walmart would let so many of UO grads have the day off.

Oregon got beat this year the same way they lose every year. They aren't built to handle big, fast, physical defenses. When they face a big, fast, physical defense, the ducks in their little prissy, flashy, overhyped uniforms get manhandled by the real men. Just look at what has happened when Oregon has faced the physical, tough defenses of Auburn, LSU and Stanford lately.

If you had watched the games this year, you wouldn't have been surprised that Stanford's offense was actually legit once they replaced Nunes with Hogan at quarterback. That's unfortunate your team was dumb enough to "look at the 21 point spread" and not look at the actual team that was put on the field.

....and Wisconsin and the Stanford teams of the past couple of years. Stanford has a whole lot of shit go right for them to squeak out that win.

You beat us by 3 points in OT and you think we're overhyped?

Who lost to a team that got absolutely crushed by Bama?

That's fucking hilarious. Tell me, how many wins did Andrew Luck get against UO with that "big, fast, physical" defense?

Manhandled? We missed easy kicks, a block for an easy TD (DAT), dropped a pick 6 in the 4th quarter, our defensive line was in shambles, and our Freshman QB who hadn't been in a close game all year crapped his pants down the stretch . . . and you won be 3 in OT. Manhandled? That is what we did to you the previous two years, by dropping 50+ on your "physical" defense. Please. I can't wait to see the score board light up in Palo Alto next year with crooked numbers. You think you've unlocked the secret to beating Oregon with your "physical, fast' defense? LOL. We'll see. Then I'll go dance around Walmart because, well, that's what people from Oregon do. Right? FYI - I did watch your offense with Hogan. I watched the OSU Game, the Pac-12 Title Game, & the Wisconsin Game. It's gross. Nice defense, but Hogan is no Luck.

Why are you bragging about your education in a discussion about football? That sort of smack talk has always rubbed me the wrong way.

It's one thing if a grad from Alabama is talking smack to a grad from Harvard, to which the Harvard grad then replies, "My university's purpose was education, not collegiate athletics." That's okay, because the Harvard grad is raising a valid point. To have a Stanford grad talking smack about academic performance in a football discussion is sort of pathetic though. It's fine to take pride in your football team, or the fact that you graduated from one of the most prestigious academic institutions in the country, but don't confuse the two.

I'm glad @ESPN apologized for Brent Musburger's VERY offensive compliments about the beauty of a beauty contest winner. A real guys network!

Yes. We beat UofO at home and they're still ranked ahead of Stanford. That's overhyped.

Watch and learn the game, then post. Or at least read my posts, that will get your headed in the right direction. Pay specific attention to the part where Stanford was a completely different team after switching qbs. Hint: That was after the ND and Washington losses.

Cool story bro. Any other rules about smack talking you'd like to write down?

You're the only one comparing Hogan to Luck. I said he was much, much better than a terrible Nunes. Hell, I would have been better than Nunes.

I do like how upset you're getting though. Typical Duck fans getting butthurt after they didn't get something they felt entitled to.

Duck fans are college football's Laker fans.

Don't be fooled by blazerboy30, he didn't even go to Stanford, let alone graduate. He just talks a lot of shit with a tree as his avatar. Be prepared for him to call me out and say I don't know shit about him, etc..., but him and I both know the truth. Stanford played a great game against us this year, but we'd beat them 8/10 times. And we should have played Alabama for the 'ship, that's the game everyone across the country wanted to see. Stanford/Alabama? Ummm, no.

Nice response bro. Any other ways to deflect a relevant criticism?

It wasn't relevant criticism. A school can and should be judged based on it's football / athletic program AND academics... and many any other factors. Especially in the case of Stanford where it's athletes are actually held to a high academic standard.
