Yup. Heard that stuff today ... I have no idea if Berger has an axe to grind with KP, but it didn't come across that way. I was sort of surprised to see him so emphatic about backing up Patterson's version of events

Anyone able to do a summary? Please

"If it was up to Kevin Pritchard he would have drafted Adam Morrison, and Brandon Roy would be in Minnesota" - 28 minute mark

According to Steve Patterson Paul Allen would have overruled everyone and selected Adam Morrison if he was there at 4.

Here comes the spin. Berger got his first gig when Paul Allen bought 95.5 the Game.

yeah, that's not quite like Pritchard wanted Morrison, though.

Steve Patterson is a fucking douche.

I will later

Here's that Blazersedge fanshot.

here's some of the info..
Here are some bullet points:

-KP not what he was perceived to be publicly
-KP was basically incompotent. Others made him look good.
-He and Tom Penn were not as close as perceived
-Penn made attempts to make KP look incompotent in front of other GM’s and agents
-KP was not as beloved within the organization as the public thought he was
-many believe that Penn actually wanted KP’s job
-There was a divide among players’ feelings about KP
-He wanted Morrison over Roy. That angered Roy.
-Patterson actually drafted (traded for) Roy and LMA. KP took credit.
-Jason Fillipi (international scout) was responsible for finding Batum not KP
-KP was surrounded by guys to hide his deficiencies..
-KP was the lowest paid GM in the league and he wasn’t happy about it.

There were a ton of things in this audio so I gave you what I could remember. Basically, Paul Allen had some justification for letiing him go. I wish they could have done it in a more professional way. To summarize, Pritchard was basically the face of the organization. He was a good scout but not a very capable GM. He relied on the help of his scouting team to find all of these players. He could not make the big deal that was needed or desired by Paul Allen. He was pulled from the Roy negotiations. There are so many things in this story!! I cannot possibly post all of the good nuggets. Sorry..

I'm pretty sure that Patterson said ALLEN wanted Morrison, not KP.

Did you listen? Steve Patterson is saying KP wanted Adam Morrison, and not Paul Allen.

Brian Berger doesn't have a fucking job except for the podcast he "owns" and "founded" and a one-hour show on Sundays on The Fan. Well, he may have another outside job to pay the bills, but those are his "connections" to Portland sports at this point.

What a fucking joke.

I listened to a Patterson interview on MSP. He clearly said Paul Allen was ready to overrule everyone and select Adam Morrison.

Take it up with Steve Patterson.

At best I would guess most of his info is coming from people who resent KP

But this is a different person talking about what they have come to understand, and in no way does KP wanting Morrison conflict with PA wanting him as well. Steve Patterson was the GM.

That would pretty much end the whole in KP we trust motto.

Right. If it wasn't for the Roy/Aldridge draft KP would be a shit GM, and we are hearing that KP didn't run that draft.

Why would we believe anything Steve Patterson said? He could very easily just be making up all this stuff to make himself look good and get himself some free good publicity to try and find another GM job.

Much of what he has said recently is clear bs imo. He's always been a turd.

Ha, the little douchebag doesn't even allow comments on this "blog" until he screens them.

Still working the late shift, Brian? ;)

He runs a sports consulting business that handles stadium deals and the like ... I don't know if for sure, but he sure didn't sound like a guy eager to get back into the cutthroat GM business. :dunno:
