Miller might have an argument for being disgruntled:

● Denver is 3-12 in games Miller plays less than 19 min.

● Denver is 11-5 in games Miller plays 19 or more min.


Speaking of bullshit... Miller is shooting 50% from 3, which is a bullshit stat, and horribly misleading as it relates to being a fit for Portland.

Dre has attempted only 18 threes on the season. So, he's 9-18. He shot 2-9 from 3 in December (22%).

The Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings are interested in acquiring Andre Miller.

Miller has been suspended for two games for his confrontation with Brian Shaw in a game in which he did not play due to a coach's decision.

Miller has grown frustrated with Shaw and recently addressed some issues to him in a locker room meeting.

The Nuggets are determined to work out the issues with Miller.

The Warriors have been shopping for a backup point guard and have been engaged for weeks with the Toronto Raptors on Kyle Lowry.

And the only one that has criticized that move is Eric Gordon. Sorry, it's a business and when you have a chance to get Chris Paul you do it and don't hesitate. Or look at it this way, who in their right mind would want a GM that would turn down that deal for fear of hurting Eric Gordon's feelings?

But, Andre Miller is not CP3. So, I'll leave it up to Olshey and Stotts if they think Miller is a good fit, would make this team better and if it's worth the risk to do what's necessary to acquire him.

Andre Miller was our best player the whole time he was here, except at the beginning when Roy could play. Without him, there would have been no playoffs. But I prefer Mo for the Stotts system.

Papa, you were Roy's biggest critic, but after he left, you said many times that you had changed your mind late in his tenure here, which seemed doubtful since you hadn't displayed any change. Now, you abandon your claimed change of heart, and revert to being his critic again.

I learned to accept Miller's weaknesses, and focused on the strengths. That doesn't mean I want him back on the team, because the weaknesses are still there, and more glaring since he is older. I don't want Miller back, and if that is the 'wrong' opinion to have, I'm comfortable with it. Now that he's gone, I'll criticize him all I want. He plays for a division rival, and for a veteran, he has a history of showing up coaches when things aren't going his way.

Bringing 'Dre in would essentially solve any "bench scoring" issues we currently have. Imagine him setting up Robinson or Leonard for alley-oops, they way he did with LMA. He's far more crafty than Williams, and won't turn the ball over trying to dribble into a 1-on-4 fast break - and he certainly won't ever take one of those terrible 1-on-4 fast break 3-pointers.
Sure, Williams is the better shooter - but we have more than enough shooters, especially with CJ coming back. Our team still needs better balance in their offense, and 'Dre would be a huge step forward in achieving that balance. I would keep Watson as a defensive 3rd string PG, and trade any combination of Mo/Barton/Wright/Claver for 'Dre.

But acting like dre is locker room cancer cause he got frustrated and rather than be a whiney puke like cousins or asik and try to use the media he just went straight to the guy he had a problem with and called him out. That's called leadership, it's not always comfortable.

This team just loves each other. You can tell they hang out and are warm. We need players like that. Players like Patty Mills, that would buy into the team philosophy. As great of a player Miller is, he just doesn't look the type.

This is the most frustrating thing Williams does! Since it's a guaranteed rebound for the other team if he misses, you really have to average like 60-70% on those shots for them to be worthwhile!

I wonder if, as others have referenced Olshey would be risking his reputation with free agents if he traded Williams, there is a contender who would want Williams in some sort of three way OR a place where he could start/be showcased.

+1, he's a man. He doesn't play games with the media or his agent. And after he blew up at Nate it seemed it did get Nate's attention. Sports is very masculinity driven, guys are generally okay with high emotions, that's how most great players tap into that extra gear.And Miller probably wouldn't be in the league if he didn't still enjoy playing a lot.

I wouldn't be upset if Olshey actually made the deal. I'm just thinking it isn't part of Olshey's player type. Who knows. Regardless, he's a great player that does deserve respect.

It warms my heart just thinking about it.

My sig was 'Miller > Nate' for an entire season. Timing is crucial. I'm not a fan of bringing Dre back at this time.

As for Mo: I've been as critical as anyone, and I'm pretty sure I was one of the first. His 'negative intangibles' have been maddening. However, I'm not convinced he is a hopeless cause. Yes, his shooting will be hot and cold, and probably more cold than hot. But I think I'm seeing glimpes of him playing more within the offense lately, and bringing more of the positives of which he is capable.

Is it a mirage? Wishful thinking? Possibly. I hope not.

Also, I am comforted by the fact that CJ may finally take the court. I don't expect Stotts to bench Mo for CJ at any time this season. But if CJ can produce, it lessens our reliance on Mo's inconsistency.

LMA gives Miller praise all the time, he got him a ton of easy buckets. He doesn't say anything negative about Mo' but we both know it's supposedly hard to be a part of Aldridge's inner circle and Miller definitely was. The only other players we've heard he was/is close with were Outlaw, Rudy, and Camby to some extent.

Everyone knows that shit had already gone sideways when we brought in Strickland. There was the bonzi-smith drama all year. That team was a mess.

If Golden State is interested in Miller, I can't help but wonder if Mo would be a better fit for their three heavy offense and play as a b/u to Curry. I know it's generally a no-no to help another in conference contender, but I'm not sure Olshey would follow those rules if he cares about fostering a relationship with players/agents more.

The problem was we didn't trade for Rod Strickland - The Sequel, he was signed as a free agent to a team that was already 2 - 3 deep at every position with guys who were used to starting and expected starter minutes. Damon was already whining about being benched in the 4th quarter in favor or Greg Anthony and adding a 3rd PG to the mix totally fucked with Damon's already fragile confidence.

We had a similar log jam at SF. Pippen was the defacto starter, but when he was injured Stacy Augmon started and actually played very well. Then Scottie came back and Whitsitt also persuaded Detlef Schrempf to come back (again) for the last couple months of the season - but with special privileges (could skip practice to be with his family in Seattle). And, now Augmon went from starter to 3rd stringer and was not happy about it.

Olshey has been a master at assembling a team with good chemistry. In that way, he's the anti-Whitsitt. Whitsitt took a team with already fragile chemistry and just kept piling on more and more veterans that all expected to play starter minutes and then bitched about it when they didn't. This team isn't NEARLY that deep. Our bench is still a weakness. Whitsitt didn't care about chemistry at all. His philosophy was to add as much talent to the roster as possible and then let the coach figure it out. In theory it's a good idea, but in practice it's very difficult to balance that many egos.
