Interesting. The rumblings remind me of all the LaMarcus chatter we had towards the end of last season. Durant isn't interested in Golden State either.

I made some calls over the weekend, Vinny. If they don't, I'm told if they don't at least get to the NBA Finals, Durant's gone. Simple as that. And to the point where he may want his own team. So everybody's talking about Golden State. There may be other teams coming into the equation for Kevin Durant. He's the principle. He's going to be the guy. So from what I've been told, it may not be Golden State after all. Everybody thought it was, like, 'Well, maybe he can slide in there, and they won't match whoever makes an offer to Harrison Barnes. So it frees up that cap space that they would have given to Harrison Barnes.' But the calls I took, and some of the people I talked to over the weekend being in the building, it's not such a deadlock. As much as we all love Kevin Durant with Russell Westbrook, watch it now, because there's a real strong possibility it's their last season together in OKC.

The addition of Durant would instantly make us a true contender for YEARS TO COME! I know it's a TOTAL pipe-dream, but I can't help but to imagine... LOL!

I'm not worried about if Dame could make it work with Durant... I'm more worried about if Durant would be able to make it work with Dame.

Durant has become more and more unlikable as the years have gone on. I went from liking him, to telling him to stfu on a few occassions.

He is EXTREMELY talented... but he needs to be able to work within the team, and to that I have my doubts. His name alone makes us a contender on paper, but does he actually make us a contender... that'd be the real question.

Wanting to be "the guy", wanting it to be "his team": That sounds to me like he's sick to death of Westbrick. He has to know that for a team to get to the finals it's going to take more than just him, and that he's going to have to share the team with another all star. So with that, I'm going to further assume it's more a matter of fit. If Durant thinks he can fit with Dame and if he believes the Blazers would play a team game, where he is a featured star, I think Portland has a shot.

That's what I'm thinking, that he's speaking in code to say that Westbrook is an asshat and needs to go.

Yeah, if Durant has to be The Guy (though I don't entirely buy that; I think he just wants to play next to a PG who isn't selfish asshat), then Portland isn't for him culturally.
I think that's it. I think most likely he just wants to play with a guard who isn't a selfish asshat. Who is also a star level guard. Dame is that guy.

Durant could be a LaMarcus Aldridge type of personality on the team. (not a good thing if you live under a rock)

Why would he, honestly, though? #2 overall and he's the best player to come out of that draft. I think he's fine.
If anything it worked out better for him. He ended up on the more successful team (so far). At this point though, clearly Durant would be better off on the Blazers. ;)

Ya ever notice the 0 Lillard has tatted right under his front Right shoulder is the same font as Blazer unis??

Interesting he really might be a lifer

I use to have my doubts.

But you know what Dame does to doubters.

Kevin.... the Rose City is calling you. Don't let a one time mistake ruin what we could.... what we can have! (Jeez--this is All My Children stuff here!)

What's next is Oden going to get a double knee transplant and cone back a star...oh wait maybe his evil twin brother

We're hearing a report of broadcaster who heard something from a friend who possibly heard it from Durant and there might be another intermediary beyond that. His actual thoughts could be twisted.

Maybe he doesn't want to hitch his ride to Golden State as their already a proven title winner; so he wants to be one of the main pieces of a team getting to the finals. If he goes to Golden State he won't get any credit for elevating that team because they already have the most wins in NBA history. Golden State has Steph, Klay and Draymond so he might be the 4th fiddle. That could be his reservation but his friend simplifies it as Durant wanting to be the man.

Here or on the Rockets he would obviously be one of the top players leading a team that has talent but needs help to contend.

Right. If they trade Westbrook, and still field a competitive team, I bet he stays.

They could get a hell of a talent return for Westbrook. A team like Boston would give up Crowder and Bradley plus a pick. Could send out the pick to dump Kanter's contract and sign Al Horford. Thats a way better two way team with elite offense and defense.

Bradley
Crowder
Durant
Ibaka
Horford

Payne and Adams off the bench.

I mean... what playoff team could he realistically move to that doesn't already have a star caliber player?

I can think of one......... Utah. So I guess if he's into that scene, he could always take his talents to Salt lake.

Watch him go team up with Lebron
