I can't imagine something that complicated happening, but 3 picks, control of our own pick from CHI, plus Claxton, Jovic and a reclamation on Simmons is palatable.

This trade gets us for unprotected future firsts. It gives the draft rights to Clowney and Whitehead. I also gives us a chance to try Ben Simmons out at starting C.
This trade gives Brooklyn a rotation of Dame, Bridges, Johnson, DFS, Claxton, Nurk, Dinwiddie, O'Neal and Walker still not having used their MLE which would be the TPMLE but given that roster, you'd have to think they could get someone good with it. They also get to move off of Simmons.

Brooklyn might be waiting to see what happens with Miami and hoping Dame will want to play for them. I think Brooklyn should want Dame if they can have core of Dame, Bridges and Claxton that's a potent combination in the Eastern Conference. Also, Brooklyn would still have a lot of assets to acquire more talent, and they have the ability to actually entice free agents especially if they add Dame. It really depends on if they want the slow and steady approach or to make a move in the new Parity NBA. I'd make a move if I were them to take advantage of the relative parity. That said, I'm sure my judgement is clouded by what it would mean for us. I feel they are the ideal trade partner for us and I always have. Dame also expressed interest at one point as he is friends with Bridges.I would take a flier on Simmons but it doesn’t seem like BKN is into Dame, no rumblings. Simmons is the physical ideal of what the team needs. I think he will be all nba again soon enough.
Tank for what?Nets GM Sean Marks looked really happy signing Trendon Watford. Setting the stage for stealth tank. I doubt they will go flat earth mode just to dump Ben Simmons on Portland.

As such, Brooklyn looks very much like a big-market, win-now team. They have no incentive to lose.Doesn't look like the Nets have control of their own first-round pick until 2028.

So maybe they’d take Dame for Simmons??As such, Brooklyn looks very much like a big-market, win-now team. They have no incentive to lose.
I’ll watch if Dame goes to Brooklyn. I can take the subway there!Geesh, the Nets can't tank. There goes my theory. Oh well, I guess Brooklyn will be forced to try & play winning basketball. BORING
We don’t need the picks. Just give us Ben straight up."look at what Brooklyn got for KD"
"look at what Brooklyn got for Irving"
ummm... It looks like the Nets must have had 0 draft assets before those trades, and I highly doubt Brooklyn will trade their entire future just to dump Ben Simmons bad contract on Portland.
I was a big fan of trying to trade CJ for Ben a couple years ago. Now, not so much. But you gotta risk it to get the biscuit. We don’t need the picks. Just give us Ben straight up.
Well for Simmons, Whitehead, Clowney, and some firsts yeah.So maybe they’d take Dame for Simmons??
Wut? I mean is your angle here sticking it to Riley, Goodwin and the Heat Media/Fans? I mean I really want to stick it to the Heat, but not quite that badly. We need Whitehead, Clowney and at least 2 firsts. We don’t need the picks. Just give us Ben straight up.

Well, there was a 3 minute video of him dining and hitting 3's, so his issues are clearly all resolved now!lol,,,so, after weeks talking about how shitty the return for Dame would be in a Miami trade, some of you think Ben Simmons as the centerpiece of a Dame trade is much better?
crazy
