Almost all of this is incorrect and calling him a “head case” is offensive.Simmons is a head case that has not played up to his potential and I will concede there is a chance maybe he comes around but he has given no sign this could be the case. KingS I realize you might be a Net's fan but please remove your head from your BEEP and get a clue. I am pretty sure if you ask all the GM's in the league and give them truth serum they would say Simmons is one of the worst contracts and busts in the league atm and this is TRUTH.
there's no centerpiece from Miami
and Simmons is a pretty pathetic centerpiece for Dame
The idea is Hero would net us a high quality player from a third team.
I thought the best case scenario for us is Herro yielding an unprotected FRP and expirings from a third team. The idea that a high quality player in the age range of what our roster should be doesn't seem to be realistic. The idea is Hero would net us a high quality player from a third team.
MVP year
To take Simmons back for Dame without picks coming back... there would have to be all sorts of crazy backstory as to what/why happened the past few years explaining his last couple disastrous years that management (& not I) are aware of. IF he is back to his full powers, his game would seem to fit really well with whats in placeIf we traded Dame to New Jersey for Simmons and picks I think I'd be ok with that.
What is considered a “high quality player”? What I would like for Herro would be something along the lines of Simmons, one of their rookies, and a 2026 1st.The idea is Hero would net us a high quality player from a third team.
They have to take back Herro and Duncan Robinson to make that work so it's likely just Simmons and Clowney or Simmons and the Suns 2025 FRP.What is considered a “high quality player”? What I would like for Herro would be something along the lines of Simmons, one of their rookies, and a 2026 1st.
I like Ant more than Herro, but most of the country would probably have Herro. There are many here who don’t think Ant is worth much, how realistic is acquiring a “high quality player” for Herro who at best is marginally better than Ant?
I certainly would be fine with Jaquez, Jovic, Simmons, and the Heat 1sts. I would also ask for a pick swap in ‘27.They have to take back Herro and Duncan Robinson to make that work so it's likely just Simmons and Clowney or Simmons and the Suns 2025 FRP.
If we got Jaquez, Jovic, Simmons, PHX 2025 FRP along with Miami's 2024, '28 and '30 FRPs I could deal with that and I would also be OK with Jaquez, Jovic, Simmons, Clowney and the Heat's 2024, '28 and '30 FRPs.
I think the Heat might go for Dame for Herro, Robinson, Jaquez, Jovic along with their 2024, '26 and '28 FRPs and a swap in 2027. I also think the Nets would go for Herro an Robinson for Simmons. I just don't know if that would be enough value coming back for Dame as far as Cronin is concerned given how Simmons has performed the last two seasons.I certainly would be fine with Jaquez, Jovic, Simmons, and the Heat 1sts. I would also ask for a pick swap in ‘27.
Simmons and Jovic at least add more size at the PF.

It’s on the Heat to find a team that will give a package sufficient to our liking. We don’t have to move Dame right away, and the Heat only get worse by waiting. Two promising young players seems like it would be too much to be optimistic about imo.Lets be realistic, Dame is going to Miami, if you really respect him and you do (you mourn him) you'll grant him his wish. The question is, what can we get for Herro, if we flip him for two young promising players in area of need, plus the rest of the package from Miami, I would consider it a fair deal
Joe isn't losing his job over Dame getting his "Wish" for a subpar return and shitty Miami picks. Miami and Goodwin need to get off their asses and find another or multiple teams to fatten the pot for a player on Dame's level...what is on the table now I would trade Ant and Nas for but not Dame. Dame also needs to respect that thing called a "no trade clause" and that 4 year contract extension if we're talking respect here. If Dame had one year left on his deal, sure...you let him go or walk for nothing...this situation is not that.Lets be realistic, Dame is going to Miami, if you really respect him and you do (you mourn him) you'll grant him his wish. 1. They also get rid of FournierI don't see NY moving Brunson and 3 picks to go to Dame.
This is a false narrative. I respect what he has done for the franchise, but he's been well remunerated for it, and it doesn't grant him the right to fuck over the franchise going forward.Lets be realistic, Dame is going to Miami, if you really respect him
Dame would be a major upgrade. Brunson is a great player but people forget how good Dame is.I don't see NY moving Brunson and 3 picks to go to Dame.
Come on man, Ya'll act like your girlfriend just left you for another man. When Sheed wanted out we traded him for whatever, when Pippen asked for a trade they sent him to us for bench players. No one is trading for Dame when he doesn't want to be there and we holding on to him is making us look bad around the league. Move on from him, Ant and Scoot could be the best young combo at guard behind maybe Giddey/Shai. they're both young. they compliment each other, Scoot is a good defender and while Ant isn't, he isn't as bad as Dame who's maybe the worst defender in the entire league. This is a false narrative. Agree to disagree. (And if Sheed really wanted to go to Atlanta, how did he feel after they traded him after playing exactly one game for them?)Come on man, Ya'll act like your girlfriend just left you for another man. Aren't you fed up with watching him hiding on defense only to then launch a logo shot with 5 seconds of the shot clock? That's not basketball. Basketball is about a team, not one player, and when one player puts himself above the team (not sure he wasn't behind some managerial decisions we've made, like trading Hart) you're better off without him.
The thing is on one hand you act as if he's the center of your world, on the other hand you say he's a douche bag for wanting out. Get over it
