Brooklyn Nets "OK" with giving us the #6 pick........

Does this mean Larry Miller will get Jay Z to play opening night instead of some of the old 70's groups in year's past?

It's easy to say that now, but what will they say when Gerald walks, or worse yet, they pay him and he continues to slide?

Also, it won't taste so good in their mouths if the guy we draft at #6 ends up being a really good player OR we turn the 6th pick into a good player.

And then the ultimate slap in the face, if we somehow, someway, sign Deron this summer and they're left with Gerald Wallace and Brooke Lopez.

We loved what Gerald Wallace brought to the table. We loved what Gerald Wallace brought to the table at home. We loved what Gerald Wallace brought to the table every 7 games. We loved getting rid of Wallace!

Clap Clap ClapClapClap!

It's actually pretty shocking that he could decline so quickly. His explosiveness is gone and is now primarily a below the rim player.

On the bill Simmons podcast, chad ford said that talking to other team GMs around the league, the blazers were only trying to get a mid to late-mid first round pick for GW. The nets were crazy to give the blazers the 6th. Simmons believed that the blazers would have made the trade if the pick were top 10 protected. I'm not so sure I Agee, but I sure am glad the blazers got what they got.

I bet they'd really hate us if we swooped in and stole their C (Lopez) or PG (Williams)

I don't like the idea of a Lopez/Aldridge front court. Worst rebounding duo in the league.

375 days without a GM . . .

Billy King always has been, currently is, and for the foreseeable future always will be full of crap.

What's he going to say? "Hell yeah, I got hoodwinked and bamboozled. I rolled the dice hoping to keep Deron here and came up craps, because I was dazzled by how many hoops that interim guy Chris or Chuck or Charlie or whoever had to go through to make this trade and eventually lost track. How the eff did I give up a lotto pick for a past-his-prime Gerald Wallace rental?! How am I not fired yet? Someone shoot me now!"

Awesome!

GW was truly a disappointment. Guys like Felton and Crawford had low expectations coming in, but Wallace was a guy that I had been wanting on the team for a long time.

Lies.

Brooklyn would love the 6th pick right now.

6th+Brooks+Lopez for Dwight is the kind of trade that would keep D-Will and even Gerald Wallace in town.

LMAO, talk about delusional, it was an awful trade but I thank them for it and if they want to keep deluding themselves its all right with me, maybe we can fleece them again? lol

guys who rely on atleticism like GW can go downhill fast once it goes, and him being 30/31 is about the time and we witnessed it, we did good

They would have the exact same ability to sign Gerald Wallace on July 1 if they never did the trade and had retained the #6 pick. He is an unrestricted free agent and able to sign with them if he was a member of the Nets or a member of the Blazers.

If anything the trade hurts the Nets because Wallace can demand more money and the Nets will be inclined to overpay to keep him. They don't want to let him walk for nothing and then have to admit the trade was a terrible mistake.

The trade of Gerald Wallace for the #6 pick was just about the only thing that went well after around 9 games into the season.

Wait, what about....nope, that's all I got. It was the only thing.

King's full of shit.

The Nets are one of the worst teams in the league talent-wise. They need any help they can get. A player on a rookie contract that can make an impact is helpful, especially if they're trying to re-sign Williams and target Dwight.

Horrible move.
