bronx would be so much easier for the nets, like a 30 min drive but brooklyn is pretyy far, not far but a pain cuz u have to pass manhattan, i say this because of the kidd and mourning comments this week, i think it would be better if they HAD to move it would be the bronx area that would be the best but that wouldent happen . i really hope they stay in the swamp though

Brooklyn Nets sounds good to me. NY will surpport them more but it might take New Yorkers a while to adjust to another b-ball team in NY. but the Nets are fun to watch when their running& dunking. And in NY loves that kind of stuff just go to rucker park in the summer time and you will see what im talking about.

It could work because New York needs some more hype surrounding the city. With the Knicks heading for the lottery again it would be refreshing for the Nets to bring some playoff atmosphere back to the city.

and the Nets deserve to have a full rafters for a change...it's a pity to see the swamp half-empty during the regular season...

In other news, Jason Kidd said that if the Nets ever move to New York then he will demand a trade. I did not read why he will do this, but if Jason wants a trade then I support him.

It sounds cool, but that wont matter if Jason Kidd is gone

I read that like if they move Kidd will demand a trade, and Kidd said: He signed with New Jersey to win a ring, not move to another city. And if he knew this would happen he would of gone to San Antonion.

WELL WELL WELL AS OF 12/24/03 MR.RATNER HAS BIDDED $300MIL FOR THE NETS !
LOOK FOR THE NETS TO MOVE TO MSG TILL BROOKLYN IS BUILT.THE NBA HAS LOOKED IN TO BOOKING TWO NBA TEAMS IN MSG FOR NEXT YEAR AND ITS A GO FOR THE NETS TO MOVE NEXT YEAR!

and the rivalry starts Knickerbockers against the Brooklyn Nets. I wander if Kmart and byron Scott will come along for the ride.

Kmart I Would Hope So. Scott I Dont Know, Maybe Riley Jarvis
I Just Hope Hawkens And World B.free And The King Bro Will Be Part Of The Front Office

I heard about this. And Jay-Z has somethin to do with this too...I don't think the Nets players will be too happy about this either.

sorry about no quotes or if this is a re post(couldnt find it in the nets forum), and sorry if i shoulda put it in the nets forum, but im rushing cuz i have alot of fianl projects to do

I don't really think the move's/changes really matter. The name doesn't make the team. My only concern is for the players, they might not like the move as they might have to go farther for travel or be farther from their loved ones and home. If there are some cases like that, I just hope that there're some positive notes to that one.

Moving to Brooklyn might finally put some fans in the seat. Nice to see that the Jigga Man is goin to be part of the buying group.

Brooklyn is near NJ so I don't see that much of a problem.

Bring in Jay-Z!

the way i look at it, i can't see there being another nba team in ny besides the knicks. the knicks have been around forever. the brooklyn nets? bah. knicks fans will turn to nets fans.

There are mixed emotions for Brooklyn residents.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">NEW YORK (AP) -- Ask any Brooklynite over 50 when the borough's golden age ended and the answer rarely varies: ``When Dem Bums fled Ebbets Field.''

The Dodgers' 1957 departure robbed Brooklyn of pro sports and, in many residents' minds, split the borough's history. On one side of the divide lie idyllic days of stickball, trolley cars and summers on Coney Island. On the other, years of urban blight, street crime and racial strife.

But the still-wounded spirits from Canarsie to Crown Heights lifted a little this week at the sound of two words: Brooklyn Nets.</div>

The Nets are going to really benefit from a financial stand point, as well as build a fan base. Their will be a shopping wall connected to the arena. It going to be the place to go in NYC, watch.

A new arena would be very nice. That one in East Rutherford just ain't cuttin it. The ugliest, darkest arena I've ever been too.

Yup, has to be done in my opinion. See the crowds at the Nets games? Looks like Cavs home games of last year, but these are the 2 time defending eastern champs we are talking about here.

If Benard King is for it, I am for it.

I thinks its a horrible move....the nets should stay in NJ.....New York is full of Knicks fans and always will be. No matter what happens the Nets will most likely lose Kenyon Martin beacause of contract dispute....and if they move they'll lose Kidd.....than the nets will have nobody...im sure the first year fans will show up and it will seem like a good move....but when they start to play bad nobody will show and the nets will simply become the clippers of new york....they should just stay in jersey!
