Re: Fuck!

chris and sly need to get a room

And you should STFU.

Real Blazer fans are not happy about this news while you are so happy over this you're trying to figure out a way to give yourself a Hot Carl.

Re: Fuck!

Typical of the whole season . . . I'm so numb with injuries I barely feel it anymore.

I was more excited about this season than I have been in the past 5-7 years or so. What a let down this season has been.

I know about all the wins and over performing . . . but I never felt this team was a championship contender. Going into the season I thought break out season that puts us on the map as contenders for next few years. Now I'm chanting the same mantra I have been chanting since god knows how long . . . just wait till next year!

Re: The word Micro fracture doesnt surround this... does it?

I have no idea how bad this injury is as im not a doctor but i read thread on anothe rboard saying micr fracture. Good god...

Nice spelling.

Re: Fuck!

This might be the most worthless troll thread ever created.

Yeah sure mixum . . . go ahead and have fun. This news is devastating to Blazer fans, best time for you to jump in and pour salt on the wounds.

Hope others aren't bothered by you because your posts are really trivial in the whole scheme of being a Blazer fan. But I'm guessing you aer getting under some posters skin with this hard news. Like I said have fun, I'm sure you enjoy these times.

Re: The word Micro fracture doesnt surround this... does it?

I was actually thinking the same thing. If Roy has little-to-no meniscus, and he tore some of what is left, then something needs to be generated to cushion his knees. Otherwise, he could turn into Darius Miles in a worst-case scenario.

Microfracture Rehabilitation
What is the rehabilitation following microfracture treatment?

Weight-Bearing

The amount of weight put on the area of microfracture must be limited. This allows the cells to grow in develop in the area that underwent the microfracture treatment.

How to limit weight on the area of the microfracture depends on the location of the injury. When the microfracture is on the top of the shin bone (tibia) or the end of the thigh bone (femur), weight is limited by having a patient use crutches. When the microfracture is on the kneecap (patella) or within the groove for the patella (trochlea), knee motion must be limited because bending the knee will cause compression on this area.

Weight bearing is usually limited for 6 to 8 weeks, then gradually progressed over time. It may take 4 to 6 months before one can return to sport activities, and even longer to return to competition. Professional athletes may be sidelined up to a year after microfracture surgery.

Why? I shudder if it happens, but micro-fracture surgery is tied to a lack of meniscus/cartilege in the knee to cushion the femur and tibia.

Re: The word Micro fracture doesnt surround this... does it?

Fuck. We'd be like the Rockets were with McGrady and Yao back and forth out of the lineup.

Re: Fuck!

FUCK is right. Not only do the Blazers not deserve this on top of all the rest this season, but the NBA doesn't need to lose its best players.

MF surgery does nothing for a meniscus

Re: Roy: Torn Meniscus, Day to Day (MERGED)

I changed the title of this thread, although not because it's not an accurate emotion to feel... just for clarity so we don't get 10 more threads about it tonight.

The Blazers should still be OK. They won't be expected to win the first round, anyway, and deeper penetration was almost impossible. If Rudy shoots the ball well, we'll probably win tonight and have a good shot in any first round series. If he does not, we probably don't and we won't. I don't know if Roy's absence REALLY impacts things that much.

Wait until next year. I have no compunction about saying that, given the bad luck this team has had.

Re: BROY Injury Update!

This one didnt even phase me. I was wondering why the hell we were so healthy recently.

Same reaction I had ... about all it got out of me was a shrug.

WojYahooNBA Source close to Brandon Roy says they're waiting to hear whether further injury is possible if he plays. "If so, then he obviously won't."

WojYahooNBA Source says it's likely they'll make a determination on Friday regarding Brandon Roy's availability in playoffs for Blazers.

It is possible to keep going with this injury... I did it for about a month... was able to run pretty good and everything (though it was very tight afterward). Eventually I hit a bump and tore it more though. =) Surgery. One of the most minor knee injuries I think, but I am not a Dr. I cringed when I saw the way Roy hit his knee sideways like that because that is the one way after surgery my knee still feels pain.

NBA players can come back from this about 3 weeks I think. It took my knee about a year to feel 100% normal... but that is just because my wife wouldn't let me go to physical therapy after she noticed the therapist was a hottie. =)

Whether he risks further injury? Of course he could... but any player could get injured even without it. If he feels like he can play than he should. My thought though with how paranoid the Blazers are... no way he plays.

Roy has actually had this injury twice in the last five years, and both times has come back within three weeks of getting the surgery.

What is fucked up about it is that he barely had any meniscus to begin with. Repeatedly tearing that thing can't be good.

Re: BREAKING NEWS>>>ROY HAS MENISCUS TEAR

NO SHIT!?!?
I must be the only phag in Portland who didnt know about this until now.
