Question for the group:

If Brandon decided to take this option, would anyone here be willing to keep him on the team even if it means he's done for the year+ some of next year?

I would, definitely. I'm a soft hearted sucker, but I think that if the surgery can reduce or eliminate the pain he obviously is in, it is worth giving him two full seasons to recover. He will never be the same player, but if he can be a decent player without suffering immense pain, I am all for it.

As opposed to what? Cutting him while still paying his salary and having his salary on the cap? Definitely keep him on the roster and see what happens.

Absolutely. Some of the same people willing to still wish on Greg Oden are the most ardent anti-Roy posters. I guess I just grow an attachment to players who literally give their body to us all in order to try and simply make the playoffs. Some posters seem to take a more distant approach to very good/great Blazer players in that they treat them worse then Barbaro was treated by his owners. Once injured, just get rid of Roy. I can't do that. While I root for the name on the front of the jersey, I also root for the name on the back of the jersey when that player gave his all to Portland.

I look back fondly on the past 4+ years. I guess I don't understand the mindset that finds fault with that same time frame. Not judging, just observing.
