2. What part of the television market is not being covered for white audiences? Whites are very well represented in television programing.

If you are really in the need of all white programming CBS seems to have it covered tonight with episodes of The Big Bang Theory, Mom, Two & a Half Men and Under The Dome. I believe that Under The Dome does have one black cast member but the rest of the shows are all white!

It's black only in terms of only allowing shows with black people in it. They don't show Family Ties re-runs. LOL!

Ok, so maybe BET is a niche for crappy black shows that otherwise wouldn't be able to compete. But it's like if I would prefer to watch a crappy show just because it had white people in it, as opposed to the Cosby Show, then I'm having a pretty racist attitude. I'm just saying, don't bitch about racism if you're going to be racist yourself.

The civil rights movement was largely about ending segregation, where you had the white line and the black line. It was the whites who actually made the "separate but equal" arguement.

Sure, people have a right to prefer their race and want to watch shows that feature their race. But if you're the type that likes to do that, don't be bitching about guys like Donald Sterling or the Hawks owner.

I thought that article was kind of stupid. Of course, everyone should be just as an individual, not their race, but it's still a fact that, black people commit crimes at a much higher rate than the rest of the population, and a good number of black youth are enamoured with a "thug" image. If they protray themselves as being apart of that crowd, then whine about being followed.

A lot of blacks are just so obsessed with racism that they see it where it doesn't exist. Like when Trader Joes wanted to open store in the St. John's neighborhood and they blocked it saying it was "gentrification".

Then he brings up the George Zimmerman case as evidence that whites are racist against blacks? Well, maybe it's evidence that blacks are racist and that tainted their view of the case. Afterall, the jury, who reviewed the evidence, did find him not guilty.

Gentrification is not racism. You'll be amazed to hear that young white folks have complained about gentrification, too.

They opposed it because they believed it was some kind of plot by whitey to "gentrify" the area. The whole idea doesn't even make sense. People should be trying to attract businesses to their community. But some moronic black leaders have led their people astray. One of the big problems with inner cities is the lack of job opportunities, and are they going to protest against businesses coming to their neighborhood because of "gentrification." Just stupid beyond belief.

The Portland African American Leadership Forum said the development commission had in the past made promises about preventing projects from displacing community members but hadn't fulfilled them.
It sent the city a letter saying it would "remain opposed to any development in N/NE Portland that does not primarily benefit the Black community." It said the grocery-store development would "increase the desirability of the neighborhood," for "non-oppressed populations."

Sounds like some people really want segregation. If we improve our community, white people might move in, so let's stay poor. WTF?!?!

I like a mix of characters, and I get it in most shows. But 3 of your 4 examples have multiracial casts, effectively scuttling the point you were trying to make. I've never heard of Mom.

For a network that focuses on racially unbalanced shows BET or Telemundo are the only ones that come to mind.
