I really like T-Rob because he gives us a junk yard dog that we lack. I know Meyer's is has a better jump shot, but how often has that actually paid off in a game, vs how often has T-Rob come up with a big offensive rebound/putback?
I would be interested in Chase though as a backup 3.
I do think Freeland could be that junk yard dog type of guy for the Blazers.
T-Rob with garbage minutes in a 40pt blowout....
:MARIS61:
I'd like Thaddeus Young for Robinson but not Chase.
Their (Robinson/Bidinger) contracts match up for a one-on-one swap. I think the motive to deal T-Rob is because of his upcoming extension, combine that with his limited role on this team, it makes sense to look at our options.
IF Bud is healthy he would be a big upgrade over Wright.
To Chase a Budinger or Not? That is the question.
Anybody have any new news on this?
Please explain, and don't say "Look what happened in GS"...
Freeland has a mean streek to and he had some good performances last season. I think he also could have some hustle in him as well. I'd like to see more.
As much heart as he brings to the court, I would be careful with how much you pay him. To me is limited on how much he will improve. Meaning there is a limit and I would prob have issues paying him much more than MLE
Wes has steadily improved every season. He's shooting as good as anyone in preseason. To me, he's a keeper and should get a decent contract here
10 Mill a season?
16 ppg, 5 rebounds and 1.7 steals. Sounds like 10 mil would be a steal
Esp with the new CBA going to go up quiet a bit either all at once or over a few year period. Just frontload the contract so it decreases in value each year instead of increases and it will be a steal.
I like Bud, but he's always injured. I think you're going to miss the badassness that T-Rob brings. A lot of heart and energy. It's imperative that you have someone who can change the dynamic of the game like him as a junkyard dog type of role.
I agree. Their contracts match up but I hope Neil could land Bud without Robinson. But can Neil pickup his hefty option when LA/Lopez/Wes are free-agents this summer?
From the start it didn't make sense - T-Rob doesn't fit that MN roster at all. They're already going to have it hard finding minutes for both Bennett and Young as it is. Neither can play SF full-time and both measured sub-6'6" without shoes - PF is their only position. And we all know Robinson is in the same spot - too small to play the five spot, SF isn't even an option.
The type of player I think Robinson can turn into (if given the PT) is what Gerald Wallace brought here -- a tough guy/instigator:

The fortunate thing for our organization is all the contracts are up before the hike in cap. That means most our contracts will be steals!
Hmmm, don't think so, the agents and players know what's goin on and that the players will almost certainly opt out ofthe current CBA in 2017, so IMO we are going to see a lot of contracts with player opt outs in that year
You guys really think teams are going to throw a lot of money at Wes? I like him too, but if you're a struggling team are you going to blow your wad on Wesley Matthews? He's a nice piece on a good team.
He's a top 10 SG.
I guess we will see. Only the desperate teams would agree to something like that.
what are you talkin about Mags, "desperate teams" would only do what? we've seen how much teams overpay now and offer stupid contracts, now (2017) they will have a lot more money and capspace to work with
