interesting...

and to clarify,
Hinrich, who was pulled aside recently by Paxson to be apprised of talks about him with Minnesota and Portland
is the part about the Blazers, the other stuff is referring to the Salmons deal.

Whoa

Read the article.

Players learned of the trade when Gooden, Nocioni and Simmons didn't board the team bus to ride here.

"If anything, we'll be better offensively," guard Ben Gordon said. "The way Brad moves the ball can get guys easy shots. And John is a really good scorer."

Luol Deng, an very close friend of Nocioni's, stammered through a curt interview about the deal. Hinrich, who was pulled aside recently by Paxson to be apprised of talks about him with Minnesota and Portland, endorsed the move.

"They're definitely going to help us," Hinrich said. "John is very versatile. Brad has been in the league forever. Everybody knows what he can do. He's one of the best passing bigs in the game."
It says a deal for Hinrich to Minny fell through and maybe Hinrich will be traded this summer (implies he's here for the rest of the season).

he had a great game tonight because he knows he's coming here :ghoti:

I don't like that Denny. I don't like that at all. We need a point guard badly. We'll just have to wait and see though.

Due to a Bulls insider, Hughes/Hinrich are all but gone tomorrow. Bulls are just trying to find the best offer.

Kirk Hinrich for Lafrentz's sexy contract would be nice. (Bulls turned down a deal with Minny which was for half expiring, half expiring next year).

Even better would be Amare to the Bulls in some type of three way. I'd love this trade to go through. (http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=cjvgr3 ). Substitute Salmons in for Gordon. I just used Gordon because he's the closest contract in the trade machine.

You're reaching I think.

I think Bulls are just trying to get it down to Hinrich for Collins and McCants.

That beats a trade for Lafrentz.

I didn't take that implication. It said the Kirk to TWolves deal was rejected, but didn't say Kirk to Portland was rejected.

Portland would have no interest in Gordon. Shooting guard is one of Portland's best stocked positions, with Roy and Rudy.

If it were Deng instead of Gordon, it would be interesting.

Blake is better then Hinrich now is as good or better especially with Roy.

"Salmons, 29, is averaging a career-high 18.3 points on 47.2 percent shooting, including 41.8 percent from three-point land. The 6-6 Salmons is in his seventh season and will serve as insurance if the Bulls don't re-sign Ben Gordon or trade Hinrich this summer."

The problem in dealing with Chicago is we're only giving RLEC if we get Deng AND Hinrich.

Maybe it is

Hinrich for Bayless and our newly acquired Trade exception

then....

Raef for Jefferson

?

not sure what that means but hinrich > blake
Sorry, was in a hurry watching the game. I think Blake is actually playing better this year then Hinrich and plays really well with Roy. I'm not sure trading for Hinrich is what we need this year with Blake playing better. I think Bayless is our starting PG next year. So, why trade for Hinrich when he has such a big contract.

This "trade for Hinrich" garbage has to stop. Fortunately that time will be coming at 12:01 tomorrow!

The problem for the Blazers is that Raef Lafrentz might not be enough.

Timberwolves and Knicks are now in the fray. T'Wolves I think can offer the best offer for Hinrich, but the Knicks would take Hughes as well.

you're hilarious. As if Kirk is some great big prize everybody would love to have

It's between the Wolves and the Knicks, then, because Portland isn't likely to be willing to trade RLEC for Hinrich. Even if no other deal can be found, the cap space will be more valuable, since there are more intriguing players than Hinrich available in the summer.

It's not a problem for the Blazers, though. We simply move on to another team. It's a buyer's market.

not really. since he's come back from injury hinrich has been statistically the bulls MVP in terms of how he impacts the game. seems like a lot of bulls fans underappreciate that.

if bayless is really our starting PG next year sergio will be gone tomorrow and bayless will be playing the rest of the year. we'll see

I don't really see how we make a trade that works salary wise to get Hinrich. If we send RLEC and a draft pick, they need to find someone to pair with Hinrich to match the salaries. The only guy they might want to give up would be Thabo Sefolosha. He is supposedly a defensive whiz, and still young, don't know if they would want to give him up.

It's a pipe dream I know, but this would be peachy

I'd imagine at the very least Bayless would have to be included if Deng is included, but probably Fernandez, and that's why a trade involving Deng to the Blazers will not get done.
