Bulls Vs. Blazers Game Thread - 3/16/12 - 5pm

HEY, I hope people see this, but...

If we tank this year = good draft pick
If we actually play with intensity and fire and win games = more attractive to FAs this summer.

It's a WIN/WIN

Exactly

Most improbable win of the season.
Most fun game to watch of the season.
Most impressive win of the season.

Damn. This is awesome.

I think Kaleb is going to quit after tonight, preserve his winning percentage.

Man, that felt GREAT! So good to see the team play with heart from start to finish. That's been missing from the Blazers for so long.

Stop making excuses for McMillan, Barrett. Sarge was needed the first two years to clean up the mess. After that, he held us back every single year.

Every player contributed and played well. Wow... I'm still stunned... like I'm a Lehigh and Norfolk St. student.

I love the enthusiasm, guys. It's one game. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. I want to believe so badly. But really... You saw what we were doing before today. This type of performance often happens for a game or a few after such significant changes.

I want to believe that this could be something more. But the odds are against it. Either way, it's fun to see this kind of effort again.

Oh, and let's bring back Joel next year. OVERPAY for him. I don't care. He's part-player, part-coach, part-enforcer. I love what he said to Boozer. He will fuck that ho up!!

Hey Blazers, if you're trying to tank you're doing it all wrong. Kthnkxbye.

Durant always struggles against the Blazers. But carry on.

+1. Remember when LMA swatted that weak shit for Durant away to preserve the win? Fuck that shit! But Blazers usually more than hold their own against KD. We did better against him with G-Dub, but he has typically struggled.

But I've always said we are so better than this, we just need to play with heart. Regardless, this was a damn grey win!

And knowing that he's struggled he made it a point to have a good game last time they played and put up 33pts

Gerald was the one that guarded him the most anyways like you said. He's gone now obviously.

I agree. I expected us to make a serious run, especially with the shortened season and our roster. I've said that several times. But I'd be shocked at this point. But a strong finish, a decent pick, plus a lotto pick, and salary cap flexibility sure sounds a whole helluva lot better than a terrible finish, two lottos, and cap room.

1 game out of how many. Look it up. Durant has struggled against Portland than most any other team. And he's even admitted it.

Teams seem to always win their first game with a new coach. Portland looked like a totally different team tonight. How long with this last? Caleb seems like a much more laid back coach who is not going to ride people or make them feel nervous about making mistakes. Just like someone who is there to give advice....

Ah you mean like a teacher or a "coach?"

Among other things, Kaleb trusts his players and lets them play through mistakes. That's very empowering and will pay real dividends.

I mentioned this a few times tonight, but did you see the positive reinforcement from Kaleb? High fives after every substitution. Tiger esque fist pumps after defensive stops. Awesome outlook for Kaleb, especially after the drab, uninspiring stuff from Nate.

I never wanted Nate. I accepted the players needed his discipline when he first got here, but I never felt good about his coaching or as much joy watching the team as I should have. I think Kaleb is going to be a real breath of fresh air and exactly the kind of coach the players need. I already feel much better watching the game(s) than I have in years.
