OT Burgerville

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

When I was on a road trip a year ago I must have passed close to a thousand (literally) Waffle Houses. On the Mississsippi Gulf Coast there must have been one every half a mile. Yet I never stopped and regret it to this day. The one time I actually went looking for one, there wasn’t one to be found (effing Arkansas!!). But I hear they’re great for what they are......

Waffle House is pretty good.

If you want a great breakefast such as great Swedish pancakes, outstanding apple pancakes the best coffee on Earth, terrific service, very good to excellent everything else, go to the Original Pancake House. My niece knows the owners' daughter and all the family gets trained in the restaurant business by beginning as waitresses in the original restaurant on Barbur Blvd., aka 99W. Oh yeah, all their orange juice and grapefruit juice is fresh squeezed.

We first went there, always after church, somewhere in the early to mid 50s.

Be prepared for a long wait on Sundays.

Good burgers in SoCal, Hawaii and portions of Arizona and Nevada is Islands.

Much better than in-and-out which I find meh (like, excuse me, Burgerville - they are just not that special).

Of course, if you really want a surfer's fast food - the correct answer is a California Burrito - and Roberto's is the classic place.

No. Noooo. Noooooooooo. Real...noooo!

Ya'll are crazy. Idk how long it's been for some of you, but Burgerville has gone downhill. I would rather have a big mac at Mcdonalds.

Shake Shack has the best burgers. Shake shack is opening in Seattle soonish.

In n out is ok.

Five guys burgers are meh, but the cajun fries are great.

Yelped the one here. Not interested really.

If I want Hawaiian anything I go here and fight off 350lb island women for a table. First time I set foot in this place and didn't feel gigantic next to the women customers I knew it would be amazing.

Mmmmmm, Furikake chicken.

They must season the burgers at the Shake Shack you go to.

Shut up pussy. No one cares what your whiskers are feeling tonight.

Yes, yes, yes, it's all fresh squeezed.
-ugh-
freshed squeezed waffle house make me think of super-compacted ashtray particles...which my neighbor imparts to me daily...

*sigh*

Don't like cajun fries or any seasoned fries for that matter but the regular fries at Five Guys are great. Their hamburgers are not too good, though.

For the best shake, you gotta come to my house. For the second best shake, you gotta find a Häagen-Dazs.

Move.

OMG, I hate cigarette smoke and cigarette ashes. My mother, father and brother used to smoke. My father quit early and my mother and brother died of cancer. Cigarette smoking is big in the deep South.

One of my biggest pet peeves is a nice car someone smokes in and destroys. Now I get to work on ones that smell like weed.

Your insurance shouldn't cover you if your car smells like that.

After viewing some other OT food threads, had to post this (couldn't find anything relevant via S2 search):

Why is BV so damn good?! Haven't ate there for 7 years, but I know those yummy sandwiches are waiting to get in me!!!

Seriously, Burgerville is THE best burger chain in the USA if you ask me (and I'm a burger freak). Just, the eatery environment, the food quality, the space, the shakes, the fact that they serve booze, what's not to love?!

My fav memory there is chowing a burger right before the last blazers home game I went to in March 2011. Was already lit up, but that sandwich and a brewski elevated me to another plane.......

I remember being told they were expanding farther north into WA when I was there a few years ago, but nothing actually happened. C'mon BV!.......

Burgerville has some of the best burgers I've ever had. Love the environment, just like your in the fifties. When I lived further east I went to Cruisers which was also pretty good. Not as good as BV though. Lucky for me I have a Burgerville right across the street.

I think its thier sauce.

I am a big fan of in and out... for one reason. Toasted buns.
Toasted buns are so much better than the soft and soggy buns you get everywhere else.

I put burgerville as second though and thsts withstanding thhe fact that my fsther once chipped a tooth and sued them because he bit into a burger in the late 80’s and sctually bit into a nut in his burger. Like a nut and bolt nut.
I was too young then but man what a joke.

Burgerville nutted in my fathers muth.

I heard so much about In and Out, I was so hyped to go their when I was down visiting family in california. It didn't wow me. Wasn't really that great.

Can't stand guacamole or bacon on my hamburger. Love bacon at breakfast and guacamole with good corn chips and a nice beer.

I don't like guacamole. I'll eat bacon on anything.

I just wish they'd make their shakes bigger. They use real ice cream and you can tell the difference. Anybody who uses shake mix ought to be fined over a million dollars.

I love their mixed berry shake...hard to find elsewhere

My guess is they don't want to overextend themselves. You become too big and your food standards/quality control turn to shit. Like remember the way 5 Guys USED to be? Imagine that happening to Burgerville. It's not worth it.

Never ate at 5 guys heard it was good

When I was in Mississippi years back helping rebuild after Katrina, I found a waffle house near where I was staying that was fucking delicious. Great coffee too.

I did. I kind a like hot cakes or waffles for breakfast.
But man, those waffle houses are Nasty! Tried two I think. Sometimes your senses lead you know, if you're lucky.

I ate at a Waffle House once. It was in Durham, NC. They had a bug zapper inside the restaurant. I passed on the raisin toast.

BNM

Yep, if you never had Burgerville and tried In N Out you would like it more.
