I thought Scoot looked better tonight. Still can’t shoot but 7 dimes and he had some nice takes. Fouling out sucks but he will learn.

Especially his 5th, a virtual lover's caress on the back of Siakam or Boucher, light as a feather on a guy a foot taller. Lame. Oh and let's not forget Schroeder's Flop and pull! The refs really got Scoot on some bullshit calls. Some of them were legit, but his 5th and 6th fouls were weak as fuck.
He actually did show absolutely elite speed and blow by on 2-3 plays tonight. I was stoked, he literally looked 50% faster than in any previous game during that stretch.Scoot showed us something today! That's all I wanted.

Shawn Marion had an ugly shot but they go in. Scoot just needs to shoot 3s in practice and stick to midrange in games. His shot is scary bad at this point. Ben Simmons bad.
And to think, I’M the one on here people have on ignore because I’m so horrible. Why would you post that here?
But what if Duck had a stretch of 5 games where he made zero? Wouldn't that be important context if using it as a comparison? Comparing a few games against a career?A sad but true stat: Kevin Duckworth put up 24 3 pointers in his entire career. Many of them probably last second heaves. And he shot 20%, making 5 of them.
Scoot Henderson has put up 18 3s, and he's shooting 5%.
5%. And they are the wide open variety.
If he's open he should shoot. My 7th grade daughter could hit NBA 3pters (2 of 3 in the game she played at the Rose Garden as a 7th grader), so can Scoot.he was able to drive into the paint in the game. It looked like Toronto was really in love with their man defense and stuck with that rather than packing the paint like the previous 3 Blazer opponents did
and Scoot should never shoot 6 three's in a game

I trust that he's getting his reps. They'll start falling. He needs to shoot.
I think Billups has made a decision not to limit who Scoot will be as a player. It might mean less wins in the short run but hopefully pay off in the long run.If he's open he should shoot. Yep. Wins don't matter at all right now. As long as guys are playing the right way and improving.I think Billups has made a decision not to limit who Scoot will be as a player. It might mean less wins in the sort run but hopefully pay off in the long run.

But I didn't say Ben Simmons, Andre Miller, or Rajon Rondo should shoot them. I don't think those guys worked on their 3pt shot enough.I disagree....just because a player is open 25' from the rim doesn't mean that player should shoot. Ben Simmons shouldn't. Andre Miller averaged 0.7 three's a game for his career, and averaged 22%. Rajon Rondo never averaged more than 1 attempt until he was 26 and in his 7th season; and he was a 33% shooter while Scoot shot 27% in G-league
the main reason players like Scoot are open so often is because opponents are convinced that player can't hurt them from three. Scoot should be averaging around 1 attempt a game; not the 4.5 he currently is

I said Scoot should take them because I think he's actually interested in being a good 3pt shooter and has the shooting form and strength to be a good shooter from distance. I think him missing threes will encourage him to work on them until he becomes a threat from out there.
I would hate for us to limit his game now in the hopes of earning more wins, at the expense of him thinking he can't shoot that shot in his career. It sounds like he's making threes in practice. So he should keep shooting open threes in games.
Well, he makes them in practice. So he can already do that. Where else is he supposed to practice making them in games, other than in games?ok...I see where you're coming from
I just don't see the benefit of him practicing a lot of three's in the games.
Giannis has shot 2000 three's in NBA games and he's worse now than he used to be. Between G-league and the NBA Scoot has shot less than 100 three's. He's not going to get better going 0-6 in Toronto or 1-5 against Orlando. He's going to get better at it by shooting hundreds of three's a week in the off-seasons and on extended breaks in-season. Dame has shot 7,000 three's, in games, in his career. Is that even 5% of his total shots from the arc? 2%? He's likely shot a three-ball more than 100,000 times in his career; probably 200,000. Scoot needs to practice and it's hard to practice when the season is running
Wish you guys would stop talking out of your asses about how Scoot should practice.
The game is clearly a little too fast for him right now, and he's rushing everything/not making the best decisions because of it. End of story. He just needs time.
