Put your partisan politics aside for a moment and state how you really feel President Obama is doing.

For me, I welcomed him initially and had big hopes he would do things like reducing the debt and deficit and usher in some changes.

Sadly, he has been divisive and created a worse problem economically than any President in our history. I think he will go down as a bottom 10. Just like Bush.

Yeah, that's not partisan.

The Dow has doubled, the S&P is up like 100% from when he started and we're not losing hundreds of thousands of jobs a month.

Things ARE better than they were in when he took office. Are things great? No. But starting a thread trying to be "serious" about it, and not being "partisan", you kind of failed there.

The minute he starts 2 wars, or has massive inflation, massive unemployment or we repeat the late 70's and early 80's, then you might want to re-visit that "worst President" ever.

And he's "divisive" because Republicans have made it a point to not agree with anything he says/does. Need an example? Look at what happened to Charlie Crist when he dared to shake hands with him. Or Chris Christie when he actually thanked him. It took the "liberal media creating" a controversy for the conservatives to welcome him back into the fold.

So what you're saying is that if I don't call him a great President I am clearly partisan.

Yeah, that's not partisan.

I gave my honest opinion. And, if I was partisan as you claim why would I trash Bush?

Me thinks you need a doctor.

If I trash the right, well it's expected. If I then trash the left I am clearly biased. I love how sheep think.

I didn't vote for him, but I was hopeful that he wasn't blowing smoke with the "change" and "hope" bullshit.

He's no different than any other President. I just thought it was funny that he didn't close Gitmo, he didn't pull us out of Afghanistan, and he sure as fuck didn't make government more transparent. He helped extend the Patriot Act, he helped expand the powers of the NSA, and I think he's a super bullshit artist.

1st sentence: So you hoped he would follow Republican speeches (Republican presidents always do the opposite once elected, anyway). Why would he do that?

2nd sentence: Nonsense. He bailed us out of Bush's creations. Had McCain won, we'd be in 3 more eternal wars plus Iraq and Afghanistan. The poor would be rioting because they'd be dying. No economy, no jobs.

I'm critical of him for his alliance with the spies. But I fully expected it. They don't let you get nominated unless they know you won't give them any trouble.

This is true. I really don't think someone is going to get elected unless the powers that be know that they will play ball. If anyone really wanted to rock the boat, I think that person would meet an untimely demise.

And that's your opinion to his credit.

I wasn't trying to start an argument, but to just see what people think.

It's also like Gitmo. Someone aspiring to be President has to trash things like that for talking points. But oncve they become President all that stuff goes away.

There was no chance he was ever going to close Gitmo. None. That place is too valuable.

Huh?

The playing field seems tilted in republicans' favor for 2014. They seem equally tilted in Democrats' favor in 2016.

I would think that with all of the delayed effects of obamacare coming into play in 2016, that the back lash for the Dems will be fierce..what say you, Denny?

The republicans are just wrong on so many issues, it's hard to see democrats losing in democrat leaning states.

Over many Presidential elections I have seen this repeat: It's obvious in the Democratic primaries who is most conservative, who most liberal. The media keeps saying that the conservative Democrat is the leader. So he gets the most votes, and becomes the nominee.

Kerry was a prime example. Carter too. I saw nothing liberal in Obama during the primaries. Just a joyless unsmiling tough guy.

Despite my criticism, the Democrat is almost always better than the Republican. But for Washington Governor, I did vote for Republican John Spelling over Democrat Dixie Lee Ray because he was more liberal. Of course, my definition of liberal may differ from yours.

Democrats say the opposite--that when Americans experience more healthcare and lower prices, Republican-invented fears won't work anymore. Democrats look forward to when it takes full effect, and reality replaces accusations.

I agree with every sentiment here. I think Obama out of 44 presidents, he'd probably rank between 15-25, with 1 being the best.

Just saw this and though it was funny, in reference to Obamas latest comments about eliminating the penny.

Obama is just a bit more inept than I expected.

His promise to close Gitmo was a joke, Ok fella, wtf are you going to do instead?

The ObamaCare is at least as bad as I expected. The guy doesn't even understand what insurance is. He didn't give a shit about all the people that were covered, around 60 percent of whom were covered by self insured employers quite nicely. He was willing to destroy this system in order to insure a few others like KingSpeed without regard to the damages he created.

His interface with the rest of the world is a complete embarrassment and has been totally ineffective and becoming worse.

His unprecedented run up of the nations debt is criminal.

His selective failure to administer the laws as required of the chief executive in the Constitution are the biggest failing.
He should be impeached for these flaws and save the nation his remaining term.

He won a Nobel Peace Prize. For what, I still don't know.

everyone knows politicians are full of shit, but he had the audacity to say he wasnt, when he clearly was

thats shady yo

The republicans are just wrong on so many issues, it's hard to see democrats losing in democrat leaning states.

oh, yeah, I have to agree that the GOP is a mess..the only guy I see that makes any sense is Rand Paul..but he is never going to get the nod...

I understand the rhetoric, but the talking point does not match up with reality.. still, there are those that will refuse to admit the harm

sorry, had a busy day at work.

So what you're saying is that if I don't call him a great President I am clearly partisan.

No, that's not how it works. It's not either A or B. I never said that you had to call him great (great? he's borderline good) to not be partisan.

But when you state things that are not in the grasp of reality (i.e., worse economically than Bush) that's not exactly being partisan.

Yeah, that's not partisan.

I gave my honest opinion. And, if I was partisan as you claim why would I trash Bush?

It would be nice if you didn't just forward emails you got.

that's about my stance too. He's not what I hoped for, but he's better than what i feared (McCain or Romney, or Dukai...Duk..that one guy who ran in 88, or Gore).

I think he's run of the mill, middle of the road, President. Didn't keep his promises (NONE do) and was weak on a lot of the things I think he should've been strong on. Kept a lot of the Bush/Clinton policies I didn't like in tact, has kept Gitmo open, and prolonged Iraq and Afghanistan longer than what I wanted.

He hasn't done anything (or enough) to change how Government is run by rich people, but realistically, he or any other president wasn't going to.

Who are these poor people you want running things? What jobs do you want some poor shmuck running? Treasure? Defense? State? What?
