Pritchard Could Be Leading Candidate For Hornets GM Job

Kevin Pritchard has emerged as a leading candidate to replace Jeff Bower as general manager of the Hornets.

Pritchard worked with head coach Monty Williams while the two were in Portland.

"I don't want to comment about somebody we might be considering, " Williams said of Pritchard. "But I worked for him, and he did a lot to help that organization (Portland)."

Besides Pritchard, the Hornets could also consider former Cleveland Cavaliers general manager Danny Ferry, former Golden State general manager Chris Mullin, Detroit Pistons President of Basketball Operations Joe Dumars, former New Jersey Nets general manager Kiki Vandeweghe and Denver Nuggets Vice President of Basketball Operations Mark Warkentien, whose contract will not be renewed for the upcoming season.

This doesnt confirm anything wtf...

its like saying Danny Ferry was the Blazers leading candidate

@FletcherMackel Source: Pritchard 60-70% shot to be Hornets GM. Mullin, Ferry, Dumas, Vandeweghe...0%. Look for an asst. GM from NBA team to get the job

yea

Re: Pritchard Could Be Leading Candidate For Hornets GM Job

This is leading to the biggest fail in the history of the franchise....

And thats saying something

Well the book on KP is he over values his players . . . this could be a good thing. He still values Rudy and thinks he will devlop into a solid NBA player.

Yes he still loves Rudy, Batum, Bayless. Trade them for Paul.

KP isn't taking that job.

Talk about leaving one shit storm and joining an even larger shit storm.

Seriously, if he were to take the job and even manage to improve the team/build around Paul via trades, I would hate him forever. It would have been the right choice to let him go.

KP would be a good move for the Hornets.

I'm not sure that if I were KP, NO would be my first choice... but sometimes beggers can't be choosers.

You hate people who succeed?

I don't understand how KP being the GM there would Help us get CP3, I think it would crush our chances.

I think KP keeps his $800K, augments it a bit with a broadcasting gig and gets back in the league next year.

If we don't extend Oden before the deadline anyone thinking:

"Hornets make an offer to Oden." However, KP better realize Shinn is cheap and would not overpay for a guy like Oden, and provided he is still a RFA after the CBA/lockout mess, Allen and co can match if they feel necessary. We can always outbid Shinn.

I agree. The Hornets are a mess right now and the situation doesnt look like it will get better anytime soon.

Can't wait until next year when you realize how phenomenally dumb it would be to trade GO.

Seriously I would probably trade Roy before GO. He is our sole chance to get past LA and Heat. If you want perenial 2nd round knock outs go ahead and trade Oden. If you want a chance to win a title, slim though it may be, you gamble on Oden getting healthy and resign him now for as much under the max as you can without insulting the man. His trade value is FAR lower then Roy's hence why I would trade Roy first.

Also, Roy's health to me is just as much in question, maybe more so then Oden's as his is joint, ligament and the dreaded talus bone. All of which only get worse not better. Oden's issues have been bones.

I'm not sure KP would automatically hose us regarding CP3. He might have fonder memories of Portland then you all think. And if Shinn says get me the best package of youth and expirings available for CP3 and Okafor/Posey, I think KP would consider us. He knows it was HE and his agent who fucked up, not PA.

If KP hadn't fucked up he would be the GM of New Jersey by now. Considering the most prominent team I've seen interviewing KP is melting down that speaks volumes about what REALLY happened.

I like KP and it KILLS ME that whatever coup d'etat bullshit went down and that PA was a cheap bitch regarding pay. That said, he's gone and everything I've read points to it's LeGarie and KP's fault. Everything I've read that makes logical sense and is credible.

Agree, this franchis will NOT win a championship in the next 10 years WITHOUT GO
