Bye-Bye CP3!!

KP would be a good move for the Hornets.

I'm not sure that if I were KP, NO would be my first choice... but sometimes beggers can't be choosers.

Ed O.

Danny Ferry, begger, said no thanks.

Randy Pfund, begger, apparently said no thanks.

Kevin Pritchard, making $800k next year, isn't a begger.

Your Pritchard hate is bordering on the ridiculous at this point. Are you ridiculous?

...meanwhile, Larry Miller is hammering the phones to see if Otis Day and the Knights are still around for an Opening Night act.

I think KP keeps his $800K, augments it a bit with a broadcasting gig and gets back in the league next year.
.../reconnects with his family enjoying some nice long vacations before taking the plunge back into what is surely an all consuming job

as others have pointed out, he's due nearly a mil from PA and there are much more promising jobs then the one in NO. If I'm him I'm going there posing that I'm interested but really exploring their organization for whatever inner working info I can gleen

STOMP

Since it was KPs idea to trade Miller, Pryzbilla, Batum, Bayless, 22nd for Paul, Okafor, when/if he becomes NOH's GM, our GM can use the line "Hey Kev, so I heard this deal was your idea. Therefore you must believe this deal is fair and benefits both teams, LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN!!". . Of course it would be slightly modified since we no longer hold the 22nd. . =)

If Nawlins Hires Kevin L. Pritchard

And it costs us Chris Paul it will be the 3rd biggest fail in the history of the franchise (Possibly the 2nd biggest) and you all owe LilOdders and PapaGrantfan an apology.

Why has the best owner ever in the history of the world of sport spent 27 billion dollars on one team and has nothing to show for it?

If N.O. hires Pritchard it's going to perfectly illustrate PA and his Vulcans of mass destruction lack of vision and fail factor of 10.

Ti TAAAA NIC!
Ti TAAAA NIC!
Ti TAAAA NIC!

a BIG BIG love!

There will literally be no way at all of finding out if that cost us Chris Paul. If they hire him, and we don't get Paul, it doesn't mean shit.

I don't follow. Ed said KP would be a good move for the Hornets, but KP might not want to take it (because there would be better opportunities). How is this hating Pritchard? Sounds like the opposite to me.

Re: If Nawlins Hires Kevin L. Pritchard

There is literally no way you could know that at this point.

Nor you.

Regardless of what happens, the team Hornets will spin it in whatever way they want. Even if we hear from them, it has a very good chance not to be true. According to KP, Nate and Miller hit it off at dinner, and Nate really wanted him. Considering the team is actively looking for another PG, that doesn't seem true now.

The New Orleans ownership and front office is a mess. If they hire KP it would hurt your argument, not help it.

Unless KP is a plant, which is the evil master plan of Paul Allen, Vulcan, and KP!

Yea we will make it look like we fire him...and then get him a GM job at some place where we want their player...yea that's the ticket!

That's why I said "If"

You mean like Portland were when they hired Pritchard? Yep. Bad hire Nawlins.

This has nothing to do with the NO franchise. This would be the merry band of clowns running your team into an iceberg firing the guy who pulled them out of the muck and he ends up at the team with the player they most covet.

From ESPN Insider

Chris Paul is "open" to a trade and Rick Bonnell of The Charlotte Observer thinks there is a remote chance the All-Star point guard could land with the Bobcats.

Bonnell writes: "But it's doable, and I'm told it's a twinkle in the eyes of this team's decision-makers. There are a handful of places Paul would want to relocate in a trade, and Charlotte -- near his suburban Winston-Salem home and possessing a Hall-of-Fame coach -- should be among the viable candidates. ... Any respectable offer would have to include a combination of Erick Dampier's unguaranteed $13 million salary, plus Gerald Wallace's All-Star ability, plus a bunch of picks and maybe Gerald Henderson and/or D.J. Augustin to even be in the running." Hornets head coach Monty Williams is planning to meet with Paul in the near future to discuss his status with the team.

So uh, he wouldn't want to come to Portland if we gave up LMA, but he wants to go to the bobcats under ANY circumstances?!?! I mean they would be giving up Wallace. Also how does thankake sense if the goal is cheap young players and salary cap relief?!

if paul wants out of N.O. in favor of winning. . blazers have a lot going for them. . i am hopeful cp3 will land here. . also am i the only one who thinks that the fact cp3 actually stated that he wanted to play with lamarcus and brandon is actually pretty encouraging. . i mean, saying "why would i wanna go to portland if they had to trade la or broy to get me? i wanna play with those guys" is like saying "i wish that trade that almost happened happened"

Yeah I think it's worth throwing the sink at Paul. If we DO offer Oden (would really rather no do that) we better not include Batum. Better would be Batum + Camby + APEC + JPEC + young fellas for Posey + Paul + Okafor. Big cap savings and lots of young talent for NOH.

I also like the Rudy, Bayless and JPEC for Collison and Okafor idea.

The article said:

Paul is open to a trade. (Duh)

Paul has only a handful of locations he would go. (Duh, Paul has already said he would prefer to stay in NO and build a good team there, but if that can't happen in NO he wants to move to a good team elsewhere. He doesn't want to move for the sake of moving.)

Paul lives in NC.

The folks in NC are speculating that since Paul lives in NC, then the Bobcats MUST be on Paul's shortlist.

Oops. This is where the story goes off the rail. Paul never said NC was on his list. Paul never said he wants to be closer to home. Paul never said he wants to be swapped for All-Stars so that his new team is just as bad as the old one.

Without a post player, I just don't see how Chris Paul will find his way to Charlotte. Play with LeBron and no post player. Sure, I could see him having been willing to do that. Play with Dwight Howard. Damn straight Paul would go for that. Play with LaMarcus and Oden. I think he strongly considers it.

if CP3 goes to CHA, then our new GM will have cho-ked mightily. Fire the choker

Does Paul have a player trade clause in his contact or something? Or is everyone assuming Shinn gives two shits what Paul wants?

Seems to me this is Shinn's decision maybe with Chouskey (might have his name wrong the oil rig guy). Really though isn't this about what the NOH brass wants not CP3? Therefore it would stand to reason what they want is cap relief, young talent on good contracts, cash and picks right?

He doesn't have a trade clause. However, he can raise a real shit storm in the media about how he doesn't want to get dumped on that crappy franchise. It wouldn't exactly endear him to the fan base, or help sell tickets, or bode well for him re-signing there when his contract is up.

So Charlotte might be understandably wary of giving up everything to land a superstar, only to see him bolt and humiliate the franchise on his way out. You know, like LeBron and (to a lesser extent) Bosh just did.

That said, I think Charlotte has to seriously consider taking that risk. If they feel they can put some pieces around Paul pretty quickly, it'll be a lot less risky.
