I guess some people owe me an apology for giving me shit for spending the offseason calling Kidd a selfish asshole.

haha, hi ghoti

But c'mon now, risking injury to play for team USA is a completely different context than sitting out because you want to play for a contender. I agree that the later is inexcusable.

Seconded.

Kidd might be selfish, but I don't think playing for your national team is a selfish act. I mean, that would imply that players like Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady and Carlos Boozer are selfish as well.

Man, another great post! You are on fiyah!

The funny thing is, I actually do think playing for Team USA is admirable. Still, a bunch of those guys probably did it for selfish reasons.

Kidd convinced a whole bunch of the best players in the world that he's still got enough in the tank to lead them to a title. Now EVERYONE wants to play with J-Kidd. That's got to help his perceived value. Funny how directly afterwards, he asks management for an extension. Total coincidence, right?

Lol. Nice theory; I do have to say. A definite possibility, but in a way...can you blame him? I guess you can say it was insurance, in case NJ had another bad year. Smart thinking?
