Bye Zach Collins

They replace him with a vet min player like Milsap probably.

Except it was the same injury that ended his father's career
well, its either crazy coincidence or something thats hereditary, in which case they either didnt do their due diligence or they did and ignored it

It was a shitty pick to begin with
there were better players on board (from this perspective), but at the time no-one knew it will be like that

however, if he wasnt injured this much, hed be long-term power forward on this team

I knew, scout people around the league and employed by the Blazers knew.

people act like collins is a bust

theres difference between being bust and being injured
His best season he still had a below average PER, negative BPM. He wasn’t good. He may become a solid role player at some point, but he was a shitty pick

hes 23 yo and has lost two seasons to injuries

big men take more time to develop

Imagine how good Ben Simmons, a big man, who is a 3 time all star and 2 time all NBA first team defensive player will be when he develops? With him and Zach it’s like looking in a damn mirror
big men (for me) means exclusively centers

We could have picked up his option for 7M

Yes, we could have. The Blazers didn't want to spend that much on Zach given the Luxury Tax implications and other moves they want to make. I would have like to see Zach back, but not at that price.

I thought we were talking about Zach, our starting PF?
I really thought Zach would be an X factor going into this season until the 3rd time's a charm break...lot of talent and hopefully he makes it work in SA

zach collins is a hybrid like davis, adebayo, sabonis, can play both positions

he couldnt play center for the blazers given we have nurk and hes too good to be a backup... blazers let aminu go to make room for collins to start

So another poor decision
