Bynum to Pacers: What is next?

Oh he would be great as a backup '4' but I doubt he wants anything to do with a few minutes behind Aldridge when he is playing 32 mpg now. I just don't see enough minutes for him and that could be an issue as he is used to starting for the most part. That is why I still like Hawes who could back up both positions and get 30-32 mpg doing so and would be a good fit next to both Fropez and LA.

Would love Turner coming off the bench at the 2/3 as well. Tired of always being so small in the backcourt when we go to the bench.

Hawes is definitely the best choice (or Frye if Phoenix decides they're sorry for Jabari), but among those you listed in the post, I liked Monroe the best.

Besides, if Monroe is as good as advertised, LMA could play 34 a game, giving Monroe a full 14 at PF, and you could play Monroe at backup center in a small bench-focused lineup for another 18 (giving him 32 minutes). Most backup centers are just burly PFs anyway (or total stiffs). I don't know about him and LA not fitting; I'd be willing to take a chance and see.

I get the feeling that we will be the third team that is needed to make a trade happen and we will get a little something to help.

The trade deadline is coming and the Pacers made their move by acquiring the mercurial Bynum who impressed Pritchard, Bird and Vogel in a 3-hour meeting. If motivated and in a better locker room, he might contribute a bit off the bench as their bench is almost as bad as Portland's.

Rumors about Pau, Turner, Dudley, half of Cleveland and Philly's teams.....who makes the next move?

Mr. Allen said there won't be a blockbuster trade during a recent interview. However, he mentioned that the team will listen to trade offers.

That seems like the most likely scenario. Maybe NeO picks up a trade exception or a 2nd round pick for facilitating. I do think that Leonard/T-Rob/McCollum have some value as they are all lottery picks on rookie contracts. Some team might be willing to give them more fun and help them develop but when you are Portland and fighting for HCA, there isn't a lot of room to give them minutes to find their way.

I bet anyone who wants Spencer Hawes or Evan Turner they have to take Jason Richardson back.

Hopefully as he listening to offers his balls are growing at the same time.

If that were the cost to getting Hawes and Turner, that might not be too bad. His contract ends in 2 years like Matthews, LA, Lopez etc so from a cap standpoint, keeps with the flexibility theme for that year.

The problem is it would take something like a 6-for-3 trade to get that done (T-Rob, Wright, Leonard, McCollum, Freeland and Barton works) and Philly would have to cut 2 players just to get down to 15 on their roster.

This is my thinking. We should have enough minutes for Monroe. Cutting LMA down to low-30s would allow him to exert more energy in the low-post, which would benefit both him and the team. Monroe could back up LMA and Lopez and get >25mpg. He might not want to come off the bench, but the choice isn't his. Plus, playing a solid role on a legit Playoff team might be more enticing than being a starter on a fringe Eastern team. The problem isn't whether he wants to play here, it's putting together a package good enough to get him.

The Pistons would want Batum.
