With RLopez on the mend and with his contribution we can find win streaks again . No one has more heart than him. Even his hair expresses that.
Side Note: That Boston loss @ home hurt. BTW I'm a member in the Ravens forum. I'll inform me fellow Blazers bud in there about this cool forum.
Welcome to the forum!

Only 6 min. tonight but he managed to put up 0/0/0/0 and was a minus-three.

Impressive.

Not really fair. It isn't as if he was the only one who sucked tonight and has sucked for weeks now.

Like I said, it's about consistency. After his one good game this season this thread was bumped quickly.

Since that one game?

Dude needs to get traded to a rebuilding team for a vet so that he can actually get some playing time in an environment where they don't care if they win or not.

He's not even that right now. He's not even Alonzo Gee.

He has yet to show any qualities that he showed coming into the draft. His lethal step-back? Nope. His ability to shoot off screens. Nope. He was touted as the best scorer in the draft and in two years his PER-100 doesn't even crack the 20 PPG mark - even Juan Dixon didn't suck that much.

Maybe one day the switch will flip out of nowhere like it did with Meyers.

Juan Dixon was a good clutch scorer. But as a 6-3, 164 pound Shooting Guard, he got stopped unless he had a clear path.

The first time I watched McCollum was his first Summer League game. I announced to the board that he was no Lillard, because that's what everyone expected Olshey to produce every year. Few believed me because McCollum was about the 5th highest scorer in the SL (because he was our featured scorer that summer), but he sucked as a shooter almost as much as he sucked as a playmaker.

But like Bayless, he'll be in the league for years. He's not Armon Johnson-bad.

I have to admit I had much more confidence that Meyers would develop into a valuable player than I have for CJ. (For one thing, Meyers' size and talent are extremely hard to find, while tweener guards are a dime a dozen.)

While I would not hesitate to include CJ in a trade that will help us in the playoffs now, I also wouldn't just give up on him and dump him like some here seem to be advocating. There is still the chance CJ's game will tighten up.

Stotts finally realized that CJ was too much of a off/def liability to play.

A MUCH deserved DNP-CD.

The least productive lotto pick since .......?

I'm talking in Blazer history.

He's probably the worst so far but there's still a tiny part of me that thinks there's a player somewhere in there. I just don't want to wait for it to come out here. Trade him if you can.

Just trade him to a bad team already, somewhere he can get a couple minutes.

Shit, trade him to Philly for AK47 and one of their million 2nd rounders.

I think people are forgetting how much time CJ missed his rookie year with the injury and really didn't get much run at all in 2014. This is essentially his rookie year and just when he was clicking, he hurt his finger against the Pelicans. Since returning, he definitely looks like he's pressing but I'm not willing to give up on him.

Nope. Nobody is forgetting. He just isn't any good - at all.

Seems like most of you think he's worthless. I felt that way about Matt Elam of the Ravens the whole NFL season.

CJ is showing that he can kill 3rd string players. Generally holds his own against 2nd string ones and can't compete at this point with 1st string ones. I don't see how this is surprising at this point?

He just isn't that athletic. That's been my impression since last season.

You guys are too hard on him, he's doing all he can to get us a better draft pick.

His first name is Christian and I'm going to call him that until he finds his jumper.

C.*. McCollum.

CJ would score 101 to beat Wilt's record in China! And that is more a comment on the league there then pumping up CJ.

CJ is next years Meyers...he's a year behind and still overthinking the game. He has the same problem Will has..in college they could finish in traffic but in the NBA their release is too slow. Will is further along defensively. Coaching staff and FO liked him enough to keep him and Meyers so time will tell but we're talking about the 13-14th guy on the bench so I don't think he's a big story. Those guys have not generated enough trade value. I don't know but I might be one of the few fans who trusts Olshey to know more about the roster and options than we do. I'm just really glad he's the 3rd option at point guard instead of Nolan Smith

LOL. I bet CJ is excited about that label.
Like "The L-Train", "Iron Man", or "Lillard Time" he is "Next Year's Meyers".

Except that Leonard has the size to play his position. His problem was that he's been transitioning from playing PG to C (now PF). CJ doesn't have the size to play his position. I know there are examples of tiny guys succeeding (Webb, Robinson, Bogues) but CJ doesn't seem to have the sorts of skills those players had.
I would be very happy if CJ "breaks out" next year - even if it's only a mini-Meyers break out. Anything to give him some amount of trade value.
Also, CJ wasn't suppose to be this year's 13th guy - he was suppose to replace Mo as our scoring guard off the bench, while letting Blake take over the ball-handling duties.
No matter which way you slice it CJ has been a monumental failure.
