Zombie C.J. is horrible

Except that Leonard has the size to play his position. His problem was that he's been transitioning from playing PG to C (now PF). CJ doesn't have the size to play his position. I know there are examples of tiny guys succeeding (Webb, Robinson, Bogues) but CJ doesn't seem to have the sorts of skills those players had.
I would be very happy if CJ "breaks out" next year - even if it's only a mini-Meyers break out. Anything to give him some amount of trade value.
Also, CJ wasn't suppose to be this year's 13th guy - he was suppose to replace Mo as our scoring guard off the bench, while letting Blake take over the ball-handling duties.
No matter which way you slice it CJ has been a monumental failure.
CJ is 3 inches taller than Mo...just sayin'...breaking bones has helped bump him to the end of the bench as well as his inexperience

5' 7", 5' 9", and 5' 3" vs 6' 3"

Fred Jones (who some fans should remember) was 6' 2".

That's shocking. He plays like he's 5" shorter. He also plays SG where Mo plays PG (kinda) which is historically the shortest position on the floor.
Until I see otherwise I'm sticking with my opinion that (a) CJ doesn't have the size to play SG, and (b) he's quite bad.

CJ doesn't look like he has any game out there. It's like a pickup game where someone lets their little brother play, and he just runs around the court but can't really do anything.

All he seems to do is look for his own shot. He's really quite predictable. And he sure coughs the ball up a lot.

Remember how the Blazers spent a day on a football field at the start of preseason? I felt sorry for McCollum vs. Leonard.

Insomniacs have clarity.

We need more PT for Crabbe and Claver. Put CJ, Wright, and TRob on the bus to wherever for whoever.

If CJ could have 3 more games like last night (which wasn't great, but at least it wasn't horrible) before the deadline we may just be able to trade him!

Is this stupid ass thread still going? At least you guys are consistent

How is such a smart guy so turnover prone? Gtfo

He had a good game last night but I can't help but see him being anything more than a randy foye type player in this league.

1 TO last night. Averages .5 per game on the season. CJ has a lot of growing to do in many areas but TO's are no where near his trouble.

Well at least you are not bashing Batum. CJ doesn't even play enough to be horrible. There is just not enough of a sample size to make this kind of thread bashing the kid.

Thats right The time played stats are not tall enough to drown CJ

CJ was in his element playing against the small ball, 3 guard lineup with Rolo holding off the defenders. He can shoot over Isiah Thomas anyday but maybe not Tim Duncan.

CJ is not horrible but he appears to likely end up being a journeyman combo guard and he has not shown much at all in the way of PG skills so a scoring guard is what he is.
IMO he is not what we need here now or in the future, I'd love to see him show something to improve his trade value. Seems like a very nice young man but I'd prefer to see him traded for a vet wing we could use

For as useless Batum was at least CJ provided a nice spark. He had his bad moments again, but he is still young. What is Batum's excuse?

supposedly afflalo is available for a likely late 1st rdr - I'm in

I think CJ did fine today, except for a couple of costly turnovers, he should learn a lot from today's game match.
