We need that PF that'll bang inside and get easy buckets under the hoop.
I say it's Caleb Time!

He has not ben used. But why? We need a ruffian, not a wasted draft pick! Could it be he fouls so much that he neutralizes himself? We have not had a good head banger since Zbo. Of course the best was Maurice Lucas!

I hope someone sees the humor I found in this

But if the problem is he fouls too much, why not use him at least in a limited role. Didn't say we should give him 30 mpg, but why not use him at all?

He's slow. His feet are not agile at all. Watch that clip. The guy has no moves. He has a decent midrange jumper and he's a big body, but he's slow of feet and he doesn't have any actual post moves. He's not athletic. I honestly don't understand why we drafted him.

I disagree.
He might not be very agile. this is true, but he has a knack for the ball, for finishing inside, for being in the right position to grab rebounds, especially offensive rebounds.
He's a rookie, it'd take him time to get used to the league, this is to be expected, but he could bring a lot to the table, he had terrific numbers in college, on a winning team built around him.
We have many different options with inside players. We can go Aminu at 4 or go with Vonleh, Caleb, Zach Collins, Ed Davis, Meyers, etc. The trick is to be able to juggle the rotations appropriately, use this diverse arsenal to the best of its potential and I think so far, Stotts fails in doing so

he was getting stuffed all the time in the paint and having a lot of trouble getting any decent shot off as he needs to adjust to the pro game, he's not quick and his jumping ability is meh so he needs to get crafty, hope he can learn that

He can shoot the three and is a very good passer. He will find a place in the NBA, no question.

Watch his play in home opener against Pelicans. 5 points 8 rebounds 3 assists and a monster block. The first home game of his career. We're just stacked with players at his position.

I have watched all the games and his play, which is why I offered the opinion I did, I didn't add that he's slow and a limited defender. Why do you think Collins is playing decent minutes and Caleb is in G League? I hope he can show more and improve because he needs to if he's going to get minutes against NBA rotation talent.

I agree with this as we already had Vonleh who appears a more athletic Caleb type and has proven to be a fairly good defender. Picking him where we did does cause a bit of head scratching especially after we drafted Zach

Makes me think they weren’t planning on paying Vonleh. Having a logjam in the front court isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but at some point you might want to do something about it.

A good kick in the ass every time he does that should help.:deadhorse:

He kills in the G league but he's slow, esp at up on speedier defensive adjustments around the basket. I think once he hit's the weight room, he'd be like a poor man's Randolph. Just a liability on D.

I think Swanigan would have been fine as a late second rounder..... but not the 26th pick in the draft.

He already is very crafty. And I'd use him at the 4 alongside a Center who's a better rim protector

one is a #10 pick and one is #26....pretty simple....one is 7ft tall and the other isn't

So then why isn’t Meyers playing?

Collins is just a better player. That’s the answer.

Meyers did play his rookie year.....Swanigan has several PFs in front of him.....Collins is Stotts rookie in the fire...every year he has one.

Swanigan is the worst PF on the roster. It’s pretty simple. Doesn’t mean he won’t improve, but he doesn’t deserve any minutes right now.

He didn't play enough to get stuffed "all the time."

Rookies get to go up against vets they've never played before...it's a school all it's own...every game is a new challenge....vets know all the players they guard..rookies don't...advantage..vets
