Camby busted for pot

I was thinking more along the lines of the dealers but these drugs (and alcohol) can lead to hallucinations and violence and if the abusers are dangerous to other people in society because of it... yes. Marijuana doesn't cause hallucinations or make people violent.

Overdose deaths from prescription opiates out numbers overdose deaths from heroine, cocaine, and ecstasy combined. At this point prescription opiate overdose deaths now out number deaths resulting from MVAs in the US. It's a humongous problem and we've started to see instances where doctors are being charged with murder because of it. There has never been one case of someone dying from an overdose of THC.

I'm not condoning the use of any drug, legal or illegal, but I am able to use logic here and it tells me that there are clear priorities when it comes to the "War on Drugs". The economy sucks, the government is running out of money and has a set amount of resources. I think these resources should be prioritized by the harm they cause to the users and to society.

I condone the use of any drug anyone wants to use. I don't care whether it kills them. That's their decision and their business.

If drug X is not physically addictive

and

If drug X does not cause physical harm or death to the users

and

If people on drug X and not prone to increased violence

Then Drug X should be legalized.

It's not our business to make something illegal just because it causes harm or death or addiction to the users. Step out of the way and let the morons die. It's called freedom.

Zero problem with him smoking, but he took a HUGE risk taking it in public, on the roads, no less. He needs to go.

Where is the outcry over government waste from the teabaggers?

Who cares about the Pot? He should be arrested for driving a Panamera.

The Portland Trail "Gangsters" are back in the news once again, another senseless marijuana related athlete arrest that could have been prevented long ago. Luckily, this time around, the Trail "Gangsters" have an entire community that supports and defends one of God's greatest creations! Cannabis aka marijuana has been an effective medicine since its existence on this beautiful planet of ours and the foolish prohibition against the therapeutic benefits of using marijuana to relieve a great number of medical conditions and ailments needs to end immediately.

MARCUS CAMBY of the Toronto Raptors was arrested on a marijuana charge yesterday after the police spotted his car drifting over the center line of a street in South Windsor, Conn. The former University of Massachusetts star was pulled over at about 2 A.M. As an officer spoke with Camby, he noticed the smell of marijuana. The car was searched and the police said they discovered a marijuana cigarette and two burnt ones in the car's ash tray.

Camby, 23, the second pick in the 1996 National Basketball Association draft, was taken into custody on charges of possession of marijuana and failure to drive in the proper lane. He was released after posting $1,000 bond.

At 6 foot 11, he may have picked a Panamera for its interior dimensions. I'm just guessing. It's a Porsche, it's very powerful, but its shape looks a little awkward.

That's putting it mildly. It's one of the least stylish cars ever to come out of Germany, and there are plenty of other roomy, powerful, marquee-brand vehicles that are not an embarrassment to be seen in.

its a slippery slope, soon you will be selling sexual favors for a tylenol pm

So you're saying my reputation proceeds me?

Or are you making me an offer?

If so, please continue... my sinuses are killing me and I'm desperate for some nose spray.

I don't agree with the needs to go part, but the rest is close to my view. I'm really against people driving impaired be it drugs alcohol or cell phone.

if it were my call, as a 2nd time offender he'd lose his license to drive for a loooong time

STOMP

I call bullshit on your premise.

Cartels have been around for decades, and do more than just provide a service where recreational marijuana is sold

Is there another kind of marijuana?

I'd prefer people not drive impaired, but if they are going to drive impaired, stoned is better than most of the alternatives.
Until we start removing driving privileges from sober people who suck at driving, I don't see a big need to worry about stoned people. The former are a greater threat in aggregate than the latter.
