I suppose the best news for me is this move means no Sasha.

Haven't you heard? We are flipping Camby to the lakers for Sasha and Ammo.

Is this the first in-season trade for KP?

So do the Blazers make another trade for THIS YEAR cause it looks like we are going for it

No, he traded Ike Diogu, and he also traded 4-win Taurean.

That's my hope. I'm not trying to be a negative nelly on this deal because I like it. However, he does play a bit like a post-Bull Rodman; looking for individual stats on defense rather than anchoring the team defense.

I would argue that he has not had much to play for in his time with the Clips. The team has been just awful, but overall he still rebounds and blocks shots at a nice rate. He is good for about 10pts 12rebs and 2blks a game with a very low foul rate. He can give that to you in 30 mins a night as well. As long as he stays healthy this was an amazing deal IMO, and I know you don't hate it as you stated clearly.

Gather around me people, around this oval table, turn the lights out, put an aromatic bread on the table, light 3 candles, join hands, and be quite.

He is here, with us, hush, do not frighten him, it is hard to hear him, yes, yes, I can hear him:

Now Roy is going to demand a trade because Travis is no more.

What, great spirit, can you say it again?

Good GMs do not trade the star's best friend.

What GMs?

We are doomed. The season is lost. Kpee disgusts me.

With Old Man Miller (the only PG left on the team) on his last legs and of no use at all in 2 years, the PG spot is nearly vacant, and far below playoff caliber.

It appears the plan is to bring Sergio back next season to lead the team to some titles.

Blake would probably re-sign if asked, but Travis will be a starter somewhere else making $$$$ next year.

When he battles his own teammate for rebounds allowing the opposing team to grab the board or leaves his man to attempt to block a shot leaving his man open, then it's not team play. Both instances I've seen time and time again from Camby.

I agree with you. It's been a problem with Camby all his career, sacrificing sound team defense to go after blocks.

That said, I still like the deal. I wouldn't want to stake the franchise's future on Camby, but considering the death of big men that the Blazers have, even stat-hunting presence is better than nothing.

Juwan Howard has been a pleasant surprise, but he slots in much better as a backup.

Another reason to love Camby. The guy can set a screen and roll or pop effectively.

I've heard of injuries, but death?! ;)

I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be an insane day.......more trades all over the NBA. Possibly another one for us? Iggy?!?!

I know you meant to write "dearth", but it's sad how your word also works.

A part of me is sorry to see Travis go, but my gut reaction is that this is a good deal.

In the short term, it gives the team some hope for a play-off berth. After all those years out in the wasteland, that is nothing to sneer at. It would also seem to imply that Roy really is due back soon.

In the long term? I see this not so much as a rental, as an audition. Camby is looking at a pay cut next summer. If he fits in well here, and can be re-signed to a reasonable deal, he gives the team a real insurance policy if everything with Oden and Joel doesn't turn out to be sunshine and butterflies. At least it buys the team a year or two to come up with a better option.

Then again, this story could all be BS.

i also feel like for some reason we are going after iggy. webster and a draft pick maybe? cash?

In your eyes, does this put you in a contender position?

nope.. but its a no lose situation and a stop gap for this season. We need the help he offers... and it also frees up more time for Bayless. And Cunningham.

tone is probably heart broken lol

btw im surprised 95.5 the game doesnt have breaking news

Heh, if Portland snags Iguodala too, I'll be pretty excited. ;)

But now that Pritchard is no longer frightened of in-season trades, anything's possible, right?
