Can you clarify? Are Blazers (CSNNW) available on DISH?

Over the last couple of days I've seen some of you mention FIOS. Verizon sold FIOS to a company called Frontier a few years back. Frontier is now trying to get out of the home cable business and is not accepting new customers. They'll hook up a business but their installers are very sketchy independent contract workers. Frontier does not maintain a local office in the Portland area. If the equipment breaks you have to mail it to the company and then they will mail it back to you.

Avoid them.

Well, he is persistent.
" I have rechecked and it is available with NBA TV and it is subscribed with your package."

Thanks guys, without your feedback I would have just taken him at his word (since he seems so sure)

all you have to say to that is that while you might get NBA TV (which is easy to get), because the games are offered 'locally' (on comcast) they are considered blacked out games.

So shit load of good it does you.

I am assuming ant gets csnnw, or root or whatever, but when it is time for a Blazer game that channel will be blacked out on Dish or Direct. If you want Blazers, and you live in the Portland area, you need to have comcast, or you need to go to a bar. It's sad, but that's the way it is. What I would do is try to get a rep to approve the same cost you have now and guarantee it for whatever time you deem

Really? I thought NBAtv superseded local? Huh? It's never really affected me because I don't like the Rockets

Ya, he's right, it's listed, but it'll be black out.

Thanks again all. Dish terminated my contract and refunded me without a big hassle. Really want to see the Blazers, so I guess Comcast is next!

I will repeat, I believe if you use an out of area BILLING address when setting up your acct for a Dish or Direct acct, preferably out of state, then you will not be blacked out. Just tell them you are only here part time and prefer to be billed at this other address.

Ooh, sneaky, sneaky. I missed that post. Does that really work?

Awesome. I'll just have my Dish bill sent to Mediocre Man's house. Problem solved! :)

In theory, would this work for NBA League Pass games or just for blacked out games on Root or CSNNW?

Most of what you say is true, however, I've moved twice within 18 months and have FIOS. Other than a long lead time getting an installation appointment the first time (right before Christmas), the installation was fantastic. I had the same guy both times and he was superb. I both cases, he arrived when he said he would and set up things exactly the way I wanted them (two TVs, multiroom DVR, wireless router, wired connection for Netflix and other streaming, etc.). He was fast, thorough, friendly, competent and on time. I think his name was Dan. I'll see if I can find one of his business cards.

And yes, other than Comcast, FIOS is one of the few other options or getting Blazers games. Another option, if you don't mind watching on a computer (send the output to your TV if you can) is NBA League Pass Online with a proxy server. I did the League Pass free trial offer a couple times and was able to watch Blazers games by logging in through work (Silicon Valley IP address = no blackout of Blazers games).

Any other options besides Comcast and FIOS? How many more years of this shit before the Comcast deal expires. I seem to recall it was a 10-year deal and I think it's been about 5 years now. Of course, they (Comcast) promised back then that a "deal was coming soon" with the Satellite providers. I had DirecTV at the time and switched to FIOS when I moved. So glad I did. Now I get to watch Blazers games in HD on FIOS channel 577.

Hi guys,
Just moved to Portland after 6 years away in Raleigh, and found a rental in SE. Yesterday I signed up with DISH Network (through the PGE Connections) because the sales rep told me I can watch all the CSNNW Blazer games with their regional sports package (for an added $9). Now after looking around on-line I'm worried they lied to me...can someone clarify, are the Blazers really available outside of Comcast (I saw so many "I hate Comcast" thread titles on here over the years that I was looking for an alternative).

Thanks so much. I don't know why it is so hard to found a clear answer anywhere else.

On a side note... I love Edward Gorey's work. I have the Gashlycrumb Tinies Alphabet poster hanging up on a wall. My personal favorite is Neville who died of ennui. Welcome to the Blazer board!!!

LOL, I wondered WTF you were talking about until I went back and checked his avatar.

Hmm, the DISH rep on my chat window is still claiming that the Blazers are available.

then I would challange the bastage to bring the beer and watch the game with you and your new found friends on this board...

you know, that could be a racket in the process here...

MM agrees to be the 'home' billing address for people. So he gets the bill, people pay him and he pays the satellite companies. Bingo bango bongo, NBA league pass!

Why is the CSNW (Blazers) Available on Dish Network Thread Closed?

Whats wrong with this topic? Just wondering?

Ya I got lied to also.

Oh? do tell. I'm curious as to who lied to you and if you did anything about it? I.e., did you complain to your provider? did anything come of it?

I believe you can get the channel on your computer though for like 8 or 9 bucks if your using comcast internet.

MAGS thread lightly......it's gotta be a test.
