Neil got annoyed about a question, that's fine, it happens.

It was kind of lame to bring up Ben Golliver though. I'm not really a fan of Ben, but he basically slammed Ben and then tried to smooth it over on the fly. That was unprofessional, in my opinion.
Slammed Ben? How do you figure?

EDIT: Whoops. I'm with DaLincoln on this.

Pardon me but I honestly don't give a shit if Canzano or any other media likes or does not like Olshey.

funny how you perceive it as such. I watched again, I see it far differently. He was more focused on the fact that Ben was accumulating every article, made a point of giving an overview of several, showing that he did indeed follow. I feel that he used Ben as the expert source, more a compliment I would think, than a slam.

That is pretty much how I took it as well. Didnt seem as much of a slam as giving Ben some props for compiling and putting all the LA quotes in one place. He slipped up on how he tried to introduce what Ben did and then went out of the way to try and correct that.

I saw it that way too. I expected worse from the descriptions here, before I saw it. He actually complimented him, I thought. I didn't notice the snickers, but I don't doubt Nate is correct in how many of the media may have reacted to it, if it reinforced their own bias' they could have interpreted it the way Nate thought they did.

Ahhhhhh!

Going to the CYO Champions of Faith Benefit Dinner tonight and just learned who the guest speaker is . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . John Canzano.

Ahhhhhhhhh!

You gotta ask him why he feels the need to feign outrage!

Listening to John Canzano right now. Hate to admit he is pretty entertaining. Has the whole dining room laughing. I tweeted a picture but can't do it on this forum . . . I would probably be banned by the forum.

when John is being John Canzano, person, he's very likeable.

When he's being John Canzano agenda driven douche, he's not so much.

Ok hats off to JC. Speech well done. Came from the heart. Emotional, well spoken and touching. Good job JC . . . I'll open my checkbook for CYO

Maybe he's trying to impress a chick, or a mistress, or something.

You know, making his life to be all soap-opera-like and shit. :O

I'm with Nate on this one, reason being that I watched the video before reading the thread, and my immediate impression upon hearing the "cut and paste" comment was "Ouch, that's gotta hurt!", before his subsequent attempted save. Add to that the fact that if ANYONE on this forum would know how that type of comment would be perceived by the media, it would be Nate, and I think we should probably defer to his expertise here.

That said, I like Neil's overall position and response on the LMA question, and I think that what he said regarding the myriad Aldridge articles over the summer was right on the money.

None of that matters though Mags. To call him out in front of the entire press corp like that was unprofessional.
Exactly--and that's the same thing he did to the guy who asked about Aldridge.
