Canzano takes a shot at Neil

I am 100% moved on from Aldridge. I don't want him back. I am much happier with retooling around Damian/Meyers/CJ and moving forward, hopefully with a tougher "Damian Lillard" type team identity and a more efficient offensive philosophy than a contested-jump-shot-shooting LaMarsha refusing to play to his and the team's strengths.

Cut the cord and move on.

It's Dame's team now, and we will be better or it.

I suspect Olshey and Allen feel the same.

Great post!!!

I suspect the same thing. I could only imagine Brass saying "Man we gave him everything but the kitchen sink and the diva was still not happy".

We have a leader that wants to be here. A leader that is invested enough with the team that he works on his game when others are on vacation. A leader who meets and practices with summer league scrubs. A leader that is just as invested with new players by communicating to them. A leader that isn't in a shell.

Well put.

Especially the "Great Post!!!" part.

So him refusing to see Dame was not a message to the team that he was leaving? Riiiiiight

That was a night before his announcement. Okay so he's 8 hours off? Lol

I think our team knew the moment Monroe didn't sign. It also maybe why we fired Kim as well.

The Aldridge/Jordan situations couldn't be more different and leave it to Canzano to fail to understand that. Jordan is the weak-minded third banana to Paul and Griffin. He's totally susceptible to a good pitch from those guys plus Doc. Aldridge was the guy who craved recognition as the best player on the Blazers, but never seemed secure in that role. Having the challenger to his mantle as top dog come along and try to make a last minute sales pitch, even with PA and Olshey backing him up, had zero chance vs. the Spurs selling him on the recognition he's likely to get as the heir apparent to Duncan.

Stupid.

I think Aldridge is trying REALLY hard to make it seem like it was some kind of difficult decision for him. I don't think it was. I don't think we had any chance in hell of re-signing him. That's not saying it was a forgone conclusion up until the playoffs, but his behavior during the playoffs seem pretty indicative that he had already made up his mind.

Which is why Olshey hasn't filed a complaint against Tim Duncan. Just Move On.

Wow...Woj really does think we are stupid. Why would you even try to claim the Blazers had no idea LaMarsha wanted out? It's not just a lie - it's a pointless lie.
Whatever makes you sleep better at night.

"The best executive is the one who has sense enough to pick good people to do what he wants done, and self restraint enough to keep from meddling with them while they do it."

Olshey?

I heard a radio cut from an interview with Dame on why he didnt sign with a player option. His response made my heart flutter a bit. :)
Not verbatim, but he said something along the lines of, "I am not a wishy washy person and when I commit, I commit. This is where I want to be and I saw no reason for me to provide myself an out."

Dame might be the one guy who can get us a couple big names in the next couple years. He has embraced this city like very few have who have come through town and if Dame puts on his recruiting shoes if we have a decent year next year...is Durant actually possible?

In order for us to get Durant, we must at least make the playoffs with the current roster. Durant also seems like a loyal type, which is why I think it's almost impossible to get him

I would put a lot of money on durant leaving okc, and headed somewhere on the east coast. Washington is a good bet.

I could see Washington because its him hometown. He just seems almost loyal to a fault. I would bet more money that Westbrick bolts

I would love to have KD here with Lillard. Westbrook is undeniably skilled but seems as though he's a bit jealous of KD and the accolades he gets. I think a Lillard/KD combo would be killer.

Pipe dream most likely but a little Blazer fantasy is good every now and then (like a healthy Roy/Oden/LMA combo - absolute fantasy).
